WERQ that fur, gurl! You are a fierce, 80-year-old society matron!

Our first impulse is to say “Way to ruin a perfectly gorgeous Balmain jacket, dude.” But finishing it off with those roller disco boots is so perfect that we can’t hate. You get your elderly socialite disco glam on, gurl.

He does know it’s June, though; right? Or does glamour trump seasonal considerations?

As if we needed an answer to that one.

I’d be squirming all night with fur tickling my neck like that.

I think he looks good, but the military-green of the jacket doesn’t really seem to fit with the fur and Disco S&M boots.

  • Anna

“He wears a long fur coat of mink, even in the summertime!”

You live that glamorous life Adam! I unashamedly love those boots for him.

  • NBG

Johnny Weir just swooned from envy. I am loving all of this, season be damned.

    • YoungSally

Johnny only does sable — Adam’s looks like Raccoon or (ha) Beaver

  • Sarah

    Fierce Boots, Adam.

  • @Biting Panda

Adam Lambert, not a PETA member.

    • magsmagenta

Have you not heard of fake fur? You must be an idiot if you think he would wear fur around Brian may.

  • Janet B

    He looks fab!
I rarely approve of celebrities dressing out-of-season.

  • Qitkat

I glanced too quickly at the footwear caption and read the name as ‘Assassin” boots.

    • Kent Roby

I did, too, especially since that’s what will happen to the poor soul who sits next to him when he crosses his legs.

      • DebbieLovesShoes

        Excellent point

  • boweryboy

    He skeeves me out.

    • Barb

      Your loss!!!!!!!!!

      • boweryboy

Girlfriend, he’s all yours. Have at it.

  • Alexis Wenceslao

I’d wear that fur even at the height of summer

  • MissMariRose

He’s so ridiculous, I can’t help but love him.

  • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

Riddle me this: all winter long, through blizzards and polar vortexes, everyone stumbles up the red carpet in barely more than pasties and a mini pad. But then summer rolls around and the furs and Uggs come out of cold storage? Why?

    • Kent Roby

I’m predicting chinchilla thongs as a new fashion trend.

      • Fordzo a.k.a. Fancy Mukluks

But which season will they belong to?
        Thong = winter
        Chinchilla fur = summer

        • Kent Roby

I wear mine when it’s 90 degrees but there’s a chance of it dipping down to a chilly 88.

    • Constant Reader

It’s a riddle for the ages.

  • LeelaST

Rock Star. It’s London, it’s night, it’s cold…excuses the collar for me – but if it’s real fur – boo.

    • magsmagenta

Highly unlikely to be real fur.

  • Karen Belgrad

I googled and it was only a high on 72 in London yesterday, dipping into the upper 50s in the evening. The jacket is from a Spring collection. The fur collar is from my grandmother.

I suppose the question begs… what is the correct season to wear a spring jacket with a fur collar?

  • Danielle

Those studded boots. I’m here for them.

    • Glam Dixie

Lenny Kravitz rocks those exact boots as well. Walk Off!

      • NBG

Wow, would I pay to watch that? Yes x1000!

      • Montavilla

Someone else was wearing them lately….. oh, it was RuPaul Charles! (In boy drag.)

    • kimmeister

      Are they unisex?

  • Kent Roby

That jacket is so awesome without the fur; adding the fur (along with the skin-tight leather, rings galore, and deadly boots) just reeks of trying to hard. I hope he doesn’t descend into the Pit of Desperation that Steffi has been stuck in.

    • 3boysful

I think the fur, and the leather pants, and the boots, while all great individually, are a bridge too far when combined. I, too, prefer the jacket without the fuzzy collar.

  • James

    Can he try any harder?

    • Karen Belgrad

I think he just truly enjoys flashy/stylish dressing. And now he has the funds (and freebies) to dress to his personal taste. He never (unlike so many lady stars) looks as though he’s uncomfortable or forced into his outfits.

    • Glam Dixie

I really don’t get try hard from him, he really loves clothes, I mean REALLY loves them. Listen to any interview, he gets most excited about his outfits. It’s cute, most guys don’t give a shit. I’ve got to give him some credit for at least trying when most guys don’t bother.

    • marlie

I may not generally like his personal style, but he always seems like he’s having fun with it, and that it’s “him,” so I can’t be mad at him.

  • largishbearishAtlish

  • Wink

George Michael and Cher had a child!

  • disqus_JNr8cF1G9n

Adam Lambert can do NO wrong……..He is amazing and always beautiful……..Anyone that disses anything about him. I’d like you to step up.. let’s get a good look at you……He puts you to shame…….Right? RIGHT !!!!!!!!! He’s a freaking god.. and that’s no lie…

    • Sarah

Okay, NOW I know who to pray to. I was confused about it.

      • Jessica Freeman

We have found out before this one has some die hard fans. HE IS A GOD.

        • @Biting Panda

How does this one inspire such a heard of crazy?

          • Glam Dixie

He sweet, genuinely nice, loves his fans, sings like an angel or a demon depending on the song and yeah, I’m a glambert. *hides

          • @Biting Panda

            Fly your Glambert Flag, honey.

But notice, you’ve never been hostile in your defense of him either. Not all Glamberts can say the same.

          • Glam Dixie

Lol, I’m not crazy tho, just a big fan, I swear. I SWEAR!!

    • Bless.

  • Sophie

Love the jacket, sans fur. And I really hate the disco boots, sorry.

  • Jessica Freeman

I know it’s Adam Lambert and all, but boots or fur…it’s too much. Also I must say since he toned down the eye liner his face is much more striking.

  • PinkyK

    I <3 him!

  • It sure is on point with his public persona. Gotta grant him that. Why do I keep thinking that at home its all about a pair of old running shorts and a t shirt. or maybe a gigantic flowy caftan?

    • Wink

Definitely a gigantic, flowy caftan… perhaps with an ever-present cocktail.

      • queenrosered

Actually is IS shorts (sometimes running, sometimes denim) and tees.Just a regular guy when not entertaining. And he likes vodka and pot, lol. (Not mixed together in a glass of course, eww)

        • Wink

Well, knock me over with a feather (boa)! It’s nice to hear that some people can separate ‘the stage’ from real life… and just have a somewhat regular existence.

    • Constant Reader

I get more of a velvet smoking-jacket vibe, but I agree with your point.

  • Erica

It would be better without the fur.

So, this past weekend, I was sorta trying to talk my husband into going to see him with Queen, since my guy is a huge Queen fan. First, he asked who Adam Lambert is (bad sign). Then, when I assured him that AL has a great voice, he went on a mini-rant about how he loved Queen way back when he was forced to go to that Baptist HS he hated, even though he was teased about it, and he wasn’t going to see some new version of Queen, even if he did miss seeing Freddie Mercury live. So, down went my idea for a Father’s day gift.

So, has anyone seen them in concert? How’s AL doing?

    • Glam Dixie

All I can say for certain is that Queen and AL absolutely slayed the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Vegas and I’ve got my tickets to see them at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in July. I can’t wait. Don’t believe me check out Who Wants To Live Forever at iHeart on YouTube.

    • llandaff

I saw them in London in 2012 and was blown away. As long as you remember that this is the “new” Queen, the music is still unbelievable. Adam is not trying to be Freddie but his style and vocal talent is comparable. Check out the YT vids.

    • WitchyWoman

Go to youtube and search for “Adam Lambert iHeartradio 2013 adamsbritbabe.” She got the entire set (minus Nate Rues singing “Somebody to Love, which was horrendous). It’s my favorite video of the concert because it has such a ‘live – being there’ feel to it, and the sound is really good.

  • RescueMe23

I’m sure the animal that once wore that collar loved it. You’re dead to me now Adam.

    • Glam Dixie

I think I’d verify that it’s real fur before killing him, somehow I doubt it but you never know.

      • RescueMe23

        I hope it isn’t.

  • B_C_J

I dislike the fur collar. It renders the wearer neckless. However I do appreciate that he is true to himself. & takes chances.

  • Cos2mwiz

Hahahahaha…Adam Doesn’t. Give. A. Fuck. about what ANY of you think. Good for him!

    • Hahahahaha.

      • Cos2mwiz

        Just stating FACT. =D

    • Tess McGinnis

Cos, you know Adam well. Agree with you. T&L love to throw digs at Adam cuz they don’t have the fierceness he has to look however he wants. No one rocks clothes like Adam, because this man makes the clothes and not the other way around.

  • Therese Bohn

I like it better without the fur, but the boots are fun. But the hair! Ugh! Please don’t let Billy Ray Cyrus back into the building.

  • Anathema_Device

I really love the lookbook shot without the fur soooo much. The fur is not seasonal but very Lambert. I think the fur is way too big and overtakes the cropped jacket.

  • marjorie2009

Rock star! Looks good on adam. Love it.

  • KinoEye

“Elderly socialite disco glam.” As far as “elderly” looks go, I’ll take this one over the Elderly Gay Windchime any day of the week. LOVE those boots.

ETA: Speaking of Balmain, I was helping my mom go through my grandmother’s scarves this weekend. There was some seriously beautiful stuff in there, including a vintage Balmain scarf. I can’t wait to wear it!

    • Anna

Sounds like you unearthed some treasures! I love finding stuff like that 🙂

      • KinoEye

Yep, you never know what you’ll find among the many boxes in our garage. I might not wear all the scarves I took, but the fabric is so beautiful, I couldn’t let them go!

        • Anna

I used to collect them and wear them all the time in my early twenties, but I feel they look a little too flight attendant on me now. So true about the fabrics though, the ones today can’t compare to vintage.

    • decormaven

Squee!! Please wear those vintage scarves with pride.

  • Frank_821

The fur is overkill. The key problem is the collar is so big. If it was narrower and better match the collar of the jacket it would work much better. Otherwise I rather dig the whole look

  • I love that he has a matching-but-less-fierce gal pal with him!

I love those boots but I am always baffled by how people walk in them – unless he has a gait like John Wayne, wouldn’t the spikes on the boots shred the ankles of the pants every time he takes a step?

  • SewingSiren

    Grizzly Adam.

  • AC Simons

One of my greatest NYC moments was seeing Liberace in a mink jacket in the middle of July. So Adam, follow that proud tradition and flaunt the fur!

  • Gatto Nero

The jacket would be great without that dead animal draped around the collar.
    He can keep the boots.

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“You’re on it 5 minutes, Ms. Minnelli.”

    • lovetheusa1776

      Think of something new, please.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“You’re on in five minutes Mr. Liberace.”

        • lovetheusa1776

          Repeat –

          • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

“Attention passengers. The Captain has turned on the Lighten Up Sign. Please feel free to relax and enjoy yourselves.”

          • lovetheusa1776

            Already there –

      • Are you the comments police?

        SPOILER: You aren’t. Stop that.

  • Jaeda Laurez

He tries so hard, bless his hawt.

  • Cheryl

I have issues with ‘new’ fur, so I’m not liking it. I do like the jacket without the fur, and I like the boots.

  • magsmagenta

So many people here don’t seem to have heard of the concept of fake fur, is it really that hard to comprehend?

  • Corsetmaker

I don’t like the fur with the military style jacket (whether it’s real or fake). It’s too casual a jacket for that treatment.

  • Kathy

I love to see posts with AL. He does like to push the envelope and is usually successul. But I’d like this better without the fur. Also, I love, love, love these boots but don’t think they work with the black leather pants.

    • queenrosered

Agree about the fur, I think it actually detracts from the jacket. DISAGREE re: the Louboutin boots! On many (OK, most!) people they would look disastrous. On His Royal Fierceness they look FABU! And the hot, snug leather pants on those long sleek legs? Hold me back GF!

      • Kathy

He can definitely pull off looks that most people cannot (me included). As for the boots, I just don’t care for light shoes paired with dark pants. AL does always look fierce though. 🙂

  • Vegas Girl

I don’t know much about him. But the personality he always gives off has me considering a trip to the iTunes store to check out his music.

  • Imasewsure

I forgive all things Glambert… love those shoes… prefer the jacket without the fur but not for our Diva… add the fur and take it up to 11 !!

  • Dan_In_NYC

I’m pretty sure I like all the pieces individually, but not sure they should all be on one person at the same time. Credit where it’s due – Adam has a way of being flamboyant and somehow macho at the same time. It’s pretty captivating. Also: I’d kill for those pants.

  • Cingara

He looks fab to me. And gets noticed, like a rock star should. Plus, he’s gotta keep that golden throat warm while in London for rehearsals with Queen for their big US/Canada/Korea/Japan/Australia tour starting June 19th in Chicago. London has been having some coldish nights…..

    • queenrosered

GUUUURRRLLLL! I could KISS you for bringing that up! YES! He ALWAYS takes care of that golden throat! (It IS insured for close to $50 MILLION) That fact had slipped my mind! And it TOTALLY excuses the fur, faux or real, imo. Thanks!

  • MarissaLG

I kinda wish the jacket was all fur. Still, lookin’ real good.

  • marlie

I love everything except the fur collar. And not because it’s fur, but because it’s June. Even a chilly late May/Early June evening doesn’t warrant fur. But I seriously love him for wearing those shoes.

  • LadyVimes

The fur matches his hair! You know what they say about people looking like their pets…

  • FibonacciSequins

He’s a little young for elderly socialite disco glam, isn’t he? The fur looks too much like his hair. The boots are pretty awesome.

  • alyce1213

I like him a lot, I just love his look, but not the fur, never fur.

  • lovetheusa1776

Never boring – looking forward to the outfits for the Queen Tour – hope T&L cover those.

  • Akemi

I was pretty much okay until I got to the boots. Nope.

  • quiltrx

I LOVE the jacket, too bad he’s covering some of the best parts of it. Hair is fab and those boots are a good kind of insane.

  • Snidge

Eh, he’s in the UK, that level of insulation is perfectly acceptable.

  • formerlyAnon

    It’s not a new look, but it’s a classic – well done!

That said, I prefer the jacket without the fur (aesthetically) and those boots look potentially painful to others.

  • decormaven

That’s a lot of look, but he is mostly pulling it off.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I find him so annoying. I’m not quite sure what it is. The fur and the boots are exactly it, though. And the brackish thicket of hair. On someone else, I might find those things acceptable. I guess. But I’m sitting here with my lip curled. I just cayyyyyyn’t stan’im, as Lina Lamont would say.

    • Annistella

Lina Lamont? so yes. “A shimmering star in the cinema phernenemen – says so. Right there”.

  • He looks musty. In a fabulous way.

  • Lisalady161

I love all the pieces, but that fur takes him straight into douchecanoe territory. For gawd’s sake, Adam. We had winter for a million years, why wear fur now that it’s finally nice outside?????

    • Glam Dixie

I think it was actually chilly in London that night, but still maybe not cold enough for fur.

  • Man Dala

He looks like Mona Sterling. That’s a good thing.

  • PeaceBang

Somewhere on a cloud, Liberace is doing a slow clap.

  • Glamour trumps all.

  • DebbieLovesShoes

I have to admit I think he’s kindof a beautiful man. Yes, I know he’s sortof douchey. But look at that face.

  • Fred Vaughn

It’s Glambert’s world, and a lot of the rest of us are struggling to be average by comparison. Dig those boots!!!

  • OffToSeeHim

    Oh, bitch please.

  • lovetheusa1776

Beautiful guy no matter how you slice it.

  • lkingcorn

Adam loves those spike boots, has others just like them. I’m hoping he has several, pair for the concerts. Becoming signature on him.

  • Snarkmeister

Just sayin’ — I was in London that day, and it was rainy. So I understand the impulse to get cozy with a fur coat.
