Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman came to the AFI Fest premiere of Song Sung Blue in looks that didn’t pay a single bit of homage to Neil Diamond and we’re almost disappointed by that.
Granted, we would have ripped them to shreds for theme-dressing, but still. Let’s rip them to shreds anyway.
We don’t think we’ve ever typed this combination of words before, but that suit is doing nothing good for Hugh Jackman. Putting aside how generic the whole look is, those thin lapels don’t work with a spread collar and a wide tie. That jacket is cut very strangely. The tie is an afterthought and he should be wearing dress shoes, not penny loafers. Was his soon-to-be ex-wife taking care of his red carpet looks this whole time? Hugh, you’re kind of a mess.
That weird knotted trailing sash hanging off the bust is a detail we could’ve done without, and we’re not sure that red lining was necessary, but this is gorgeous on her. Beautiful color, lovely drape. The mismatched straps would bug more, but her hair is taking care of it. Speaking of which, we’re not living this… we’ll be nice and call it “laquered” style for her. She looks weighed down with hair product.
