Cynthia Erivo continued her ongoing Elphaba cosplay project (aka the Wicked promo tour) at the CFDAs, courtesy of Zac Posen in his role as the Executive Vice President and Creative Director of the GAP.
We still don’t understand why he make these custom pieces under the GAP brand name when they look nothing like the brand’s aesthetic and the pieces won’t be available for purchase, but we suppose it works as branding, although we don’t see how it could. No one looking at this would think it looks like the GAP and no one walks into a GAP looking for something like this. It’s fine. Very dramatic and witchy. Well-suited to her. It seems somewhat uncharacteristically plain for her, although it might have been designed with the assumption that she’d be wearing her usual ten pounds of jewelry. The restraint actually works really well here.
