Everybody came out for the Bridgerton season three premiere and the looks were surprisingly ambitious for a third-season Netflix series premiere. Then again, they all know upon which side their bread is buttered, so to speak. Bridgerton has the kind of fandom that won’t take well to shitty promo attempts. They want the glam and they want piles of florals.
Adjoa Andoh in Safiyaa
It’s a simple design, but it suits her and she’s serving it with attitude to spare. She looks great.
Bessie Carter
Girl, no.
Claudia Jessie in Stella McCartney
Her hair and makeup are gorgeous, we like the suit, and the shoes made us smile.
Emma Naomi
It’s not the freshest frock in the world, but she’s working the hell out of it.
Florence Hunt
A dress made out of random ideas.
Hannah Dodd
It’s a sharp, sexy design but the skirt fabric looks cheap.
Jessica Madsen in Shushu/Tong
The skirt feels a little unresolved and the bow is wildly overdone. The basic style looks good on her, but the hair needs work.
Joanna Bobin in Temperley London
She looks great. The dress is pretty, but we might have liked it more in a color.
Jonathan Bailey
Loving his increasingly slutty style phase, but we don’t think the boots make the best choice for this look.
Julia Quinn
Black-backed florals aren’t our faves, but it’s the best way for a floral to stand out in front of a Bridgerton backdrop. It’s a nice dress.
Luke Newton in Versace
Always happy to see boystars willing to be unconventional in ways that challenge gender norms, but that is a total Nana jacket. It also feels a bit off-season.
Naturi Naughton
This gown has a bunch of elements we tend not to love and an overall style that tends to come off stale to us, and yet she looks absolutely stunning here.
Nicola Coughlan in Danielle Frankel
We feel like her usually unassailable style has been hit-or-miss lately. This feels stuffy, the white doesn’t flatter her, and the shape is weird.
Phoebe Robinson in Free People
This would have been gorgeous if it hadn’t been sheer.
Ruth Gemmell
So dowdy it’s borderline funereal.
Simone Ashley in Prada
This is pretty fantastic, although it looks a little heavy and shapeless on her.
Susan Kelechi Watson
Maybe it’s better in real life, but in pictures, this is just not a great frock. It looks flimsy and underwhelming. It definitely could have used some more aggressive styling choices.
