Catherine, Princess of Wales Visits HMP High Down Prison in Alexander McQueen

Princess Cathy goes to prison, but only for a short visit; not because the proletariat overthrew her or something. As patron of The Forward Trust, which helps people in the criminal justice system recover from addiction, she paid a visit to HMP High Down in Surrey. Looks like royal duties are back in full swing after the August vacation.

This is good work and we don’t want to make fun of it, but she’s very obviously going through that “Oh shit” moment when someone who clearly has no reason to worry is nonetheless nervous about being sniffed by a drug dog. There’s just something innately guilt-inducing about the situation and it’s actually kind of cute that she goes through those moments of irrationality just like everyone else.

On the other hand, it would have been HILARIOUS if she got busted for weed or something. Come on! She looks guilty as sin! Look at that bandaged hand! Girlfriend’s been riding rough! She’ll cut a bitch! Okay, it’s at least a little funny. Ah, well. We’re going to be vilified somewhere for writing all of this, but we can only be as God made us. Bitches.

Anyway, she looks pretty good, although the extensions are a bit overdone. We don’t know if she’s going through a sort of light-mourning thing on the first anniversary of the Queen’s death, but this is the second time she’s worn purple this week.
