We gave star Hailee Steinfeld some solo time in the judging circle but make no mistake, the cast and celebrity supporters of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse also made some notable style choices for the premiere. And by that we mean both notably interesting and notably terrible. Let’s see how it all shook out!

There almost no celebrities regularly trying to work avant garde fashion on the red carpet. Even Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton have calmed things down a bit in recent years. He’s the only one we can think of who routinely takes big-swing risks in his style. At a time when male stars get praised for wearing pink or sporting a skirt now and then, he is a breath of fresh air who always pushes things much further than anyone else. We don’t love this design, but we love that he chose it.

The cut of the suit is a little off – especially the jacket – but the overall look is elegantly chic. The jewelry does a lot to elevate it.

This is a really cute look for a summer animated superhero movie premiere; photogenic, bright and fashionable, but without coming off too serious or tryhard. Her hair, as always, makes the look.

This is awful. It all looks like it came from a sales rack at a discount men’s store. We’re not expecting Dior Homme here, but there’s no reason to be wearing such drab menswear.

It’s cute. Love the color combo. Should’ve kept the jacket buttoned for pictures.

We don’t love the construction of the bust, which only looks good if she’s posed a certain way, but the color, fit and styling are all fantastic.

We could get behind this look if the jacket fit him correctly, he was sporting a belt, and those stupid knee windows didn’t exist.
