Shall we spend some time looking at a shockingly gorgeous gown, kittens? Yes. Let’s. It’s so much more fun than thinking about things of import. Red carpet queen Fan Bingbing closed out her serving duties at the Cannes Film Festival with this stunner:
We suppose there must’ve been a micro-trend of ombre feather gowns at this event, but we think Miss Bingbing won the Bigass Skirt Prize for the evening. The ombre isn’t subtle on this one, but it’s going from a near-black to a pale blue, so the gradations have to be a little more abrupt. We think a lot of folks are going to find the shape of the skirt to be a little bit too much, but we really love the grandiosity of it, not to mention the way it evokes wings, which give her an almost mythological feel. There’s nothing wrong with a slinky or body-con gown, but we love when someone comes out in something mimicking an 18th century silhouette. As always, the head styling is flawless. Love those earrings.
