Duchess of Sussex style posts are rare around these parts, since she doesn’t step out to do public-facing promotional work nearly as much as she used to — which is something we noted earlier today, when we covered her fetching red ensemble at the One Young World Summit. In other words, after explaining why we cover her so infrequently in our most recent podcast, we’re doing two Meghan posts in one day, which hasn’t happened since their last royal tour. In other, less happy news, she wore something we simply can’t support.
This almost seems designed to cause our eyelids to twitch, from the turtleneck to the white-on-beige neutrality of it. We want to say that the high-waisted pants are a terrible idea – and she does have a history of unnecessary belts, bulk or waists that tend to camouflage her own – but we honestly think they’re less of an issue than that top, which is really awful with them. We might be convinced on its merits if it were in black, but the Duchess really needs to improve her tucking game. To be fair, we don’t think there’s a good way to tuck a ribbed top into those pants.
