You just know we had to, darlings. We flipped on the mics and got a few things off our manly chests regarding Meghan Markle’s profile in The Cut. We think the Duchess of Sussex has every good reason in the world to want to tell her side of the story, but we think she and Prince Harry should seriously reconsider how they engage with the media – and we’ll tell you why.
After that, it’s an even deeper dive into House of the Dragon than last week’s episode, as the show seems to have fully snapped into Game of Thrones-like formation with its second episode “The Rogue Prince.” We’ll take some of the observations we made in yesterday’s post on the costumes of this episode and expand on them. We’ll tell you which of the actors gave killer performances this week, which of the characters is our absolute fave, and whether we think certain other characters are being written well or not. All that plus a discussion on childbirth, bad accents, and how Martin’s work centers and elevates women in a way Tolkien didn’t – and whether or not it’s an approach that should be lauded.
PLUS: A whole rundown of why we’re NOT going to be covering The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, even though it’s our most anticipated show of the year.
Lots to discuss and debate! As always, thank you for listening, darlings.
