Going by her press looks this week, Tracee Ellis Ross either feels like the world needs more sunshine, or she’s feeling like bold yellow is her lucky color at the moment. Whatever the reason, we’re afraid the results are just too goofy to work this time around.

She could almost get us to love that fringe skirt. She not only knows how to work it, but she’s one of the few people who could make it look like a fun element and not like Big Bird is molting or something. But alas, we cannot get there. As hard as she’s working that fringe, the beaded curtain sleeves are an element that simply should not exist in this or any other world. Sure, they’re fine for anybody who wants to stand with their arms pinned firmly at their sides all day, but Tracee’s very much a raise-your-hands-in-the-air kinda gal, so that’s just a non-starter. We’ll give her credit for some fun posing and the use of a good backdrop, but this dress design is so goofy not even she can make it work.
