We’re inclined to like this because we’re happy to see a gal in a gown and because she has a knack for being able to handle some pretty loony-looking fashion, especially when it checks off the bold and whimsical boxes. But there are things to discuss here and we’re gonna leave the final call over to you. We’re not the only ones who need to stretch our bitchy judgey muscles this week. Limber up and get back in the game, kittens.
Like we said, she can handle a lot and we’d argue this is mostly in her style wheelhouse. But grateful for the effort or not, we can’t suddenly decide that bubble skirts with trains are a thing we support wholeheartedly after a decade-plus of being dramatically opposed to such things. And while she can handle a tiara like a champ, that one looks a bit spiky and severe. Then again, the whole look is a winking homage with a sort of “Fuck Yeah, New York” kind of tone to it, so we guess part of the question comes down to whether you think the symbolism works.
