We are totally here for the Reneesance, thrilled by her win for this role, and hoping she can ride that goodwill straight up to Oscar night as a nominee, but man, do we ever wish she would step up her style game.
It’s fine. Pretty and elegant; flattering and very clearly to her preferences. It feels incredibly underwhelming given her buzzy status at the moment, but even we have to admit, forcing her into something she doesn’t want to wear isn’t going to do her any good. But just because a gal loves herself some plain minimalism in her dress choices doesn’t mean things can’t be helped along by some smarter styling. Get her a pair of silver sandals, some drop earrings and a hair and makeup team willing to fight her on the important questions. Slap some color on her face and more bling on her bodyparts and this would feel a bit more awards season-ready without making her wear something she hates.
