Queen Max stepped out in some tone-on-tone action as she attended the opening of the renovated boulevard in Scheveningen, which is one of the best-known and most visited coastal promenades in the Netherlands. In other words, she got all dressed up for a street, which is the kind of thing modern queens tend to do with their time.

And we’ve gotta say, she pretty much nailed the look. We love a teal/green combo and this one works surprisingly well, given her issues with color matching in the past. The hat’s not really to our tastes, but it’s very queenly and it tames the royal tresses, which tend to fly all over the place on windy days. Once again, we question her jewelry placement. The brooch would look just fine worn at the shoulder of the dress or the coat. It looks a little goofy worn at the waist. That and the ever-present leather gloves are our only quibbles here.
