She opted to do the Full Juliet — and yes, we know this isn’t a historically accurate costume. It’s more English Regency than 15th Century Verona, but it practically screams “romantic heroine.” We tend to be somewhat forgiving of opening night party looks because unlike a red carpet, the principals involved just got off work. So her look is fairly impressive; offering up Hollywood red carpet glam. We have no real critiques. We don’t think the color does much for her and the style is borderline cliche, but she looks very pretty and appropriate in it. We don’t love the embellishments on the sleeves because they look like epaulets. He is dressed like the joke character in an ’80s teen sex comedy, but considering he was born several decades after the heyday ended, this must all look very fresh to him. We can’t ever get behind sweater vests, but that’s a pretty sweet belt and we’re happy to see guys wearing big buckles again.
