Tessa Thompson came to the opening night party of her play The Fear of 13 in an ensemble that helpfully provides an illustration of the sentiment “People in the fashion industry have lost their goddamn minds.” To wit:

SLEEVES ARE NOT A SCARF, TESSA. SCARVES SHOULD NOT HAVE CUFFS AND BUTTONS, FASHION DESIGNERS. Please make a note of it, since you all seem to have forgotten these very simple and basic facts. It’s a shame, because the outfit is legitimately cute, but that thing is so dumb and so hellaciously distracting that it doesn’t matter what else she’s wearing. You go out with sleeves around your neck, you’re only going to be seen as “That lady with sleeves around her neck.”
