The Super Mario Galaxy Movie star Anya Taylor-Joy continues her “Wear Something Wacky” world tour with a stop at the Tokyo premiere. The good news is that she sported a Dior dress with a very pretty beaded floral pattern that doesn’t smack of videogame-inspired cosplay. The bad news is… well, just scroll down for yourself.

You had to go and do that, didn’t you, Anya? Truth be told, we’re not mad at it; not really. We think the design goes a little too far, but we’re not opposed to a tricky skirt with an interesting shape. The thing is, you really shouldn’t be picking something like this for a venue that’s gonna have you on a raised platform in front of cameras. Her posing seems to indicate that she realized this. She looks like she’s trying to prevent that thing from flying up completely. We can say we don’t mind the goofy shape, but the floral pattern is so pretty that we tend to think the design would be improved with a less distracting skirt. We hate the dangly parts. That hair just isn’t doing it for this dress.
