Those HUNTR/X ladies have done it again. Rei Ami, EJAE, and Audrey Nuna, those real live K Pop Demon Hunters, hit the red carpet in three distinctly eye-popping looks, as they are prone to do. We have to give them credit, because they’ve taken this spotlight moment and really run with it, in exactly the way we like to see. When we go on and on about how important fashion can be to celebrities and their promotional efforts, this is exactly what we’re talking about. Have you ever seen cartoon voice actors work this hard to brand themselves apart from the characters they play? This is the good stuff. All stars or would-be stars should take notes.
Rei Ami in Jasmin Erbas
Which isn’t to say we love everything about everything they wear. This gets points for being unique and unusual in a way that can’t be ignored. The bottom of the skirt is sculptural and lovely, which is why we think there needed to be serious edits above it. The ruffle around her waist is awful and the bodice is terribly overdesigned.
EAJE in Dior
She always goes for the more conventional styles, which is smart of her because it helps her stand out from her more outrageous co-stars. The beading on the bust is lovely, but we don’t love the ass fans.
Audrey Nuna in Thom Browne
This lady is nuts and we love her. It’s refreshing to see a Thom Browne ensemble on the red carpet that hasn’t been worn a thousand times before. Those prep school uniforms are tired. This is the opposite of tired, and while we can see how this whole look isn’t for everyone, we just love that she has the nerve to try it. There’s no point in us suggesting edits or accessories here. You either commit to this whole thing or don’t bother.
