We gave Kate Hudson some spotlight time because her dress was discussable, but she wasn’t the only star who attended the Directors Guild Awards, so it’s time to round up the rest and rate their outfits. Join us, won’t you?;
Harry Melling in Our Legacy

This is pretty cute. The suit’s nothing to write home about, but we enjoy the grommet shirt. He should lean into quirky-cute pieces like that as much as possible. They suit him. His jacket cuffs look a little short, but that’s the only quibble we have.
Kumail Nanjiani in Anamika Khanna

The fit is great and the relative lack of wrinkling is impressive, but we still wouldn’t recommend going out in a satin suit.
Olivia Wilde in Prada

She was stepping out in a string of nearly naked dresses just a few years back, so this feels like a rather dramatic change of course. As leather gowns go, this one isn’t particularly fierce or fabulous. It just looks heavy as hell and the high waist and deflated bust aren’t very flattering.
Rhea Seehorn in Loewe

No, Rhea. Those things are stupid. We realize the dress would go instantly forgettable without them, but that’s an argument for picking a more interesting dress, not for putting satin pool floaties on.
