The Testament of Ann Lee star Amanda Seyfried kicked off the 2026 awards season by hitting the red carpets at both the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards and the Critics Choice Awards. She’s always had a “get the job done” sort of vibe to her red carpet choices, but we think it’s starting to fail her.

There’s a certain no muss/no fuss quality to her red carpet style, as if there was an understanding that if she just sits down to get her hair and face done, any decent frock will do. That’s largely true, but it seems to us that her style choices haven’t really been paying off lately. She might want to get a little more aggressive about it if she’s truly mounting an awards campaign. This is a perfectly fine look, but it’s also a pretty forgettable one. We actually don’t mind the high vamp pumps for once, but we tend to think they look a little goofy with the shape of the dress.

See what we mean? Not bad exactly, just… kind of meh. It’s giving Fanning, and we already have enough of those. Also, we don’t think the tight hair or the lip color are doing anything good for her.
