The only reason we didn’t put Sentimental Value star Elle Fanning’s two weekend looks in the same Style File post was because we originally planned on putting her Critics Choice Awards dress up to an IN or OUT vote but we realized at the last minute that the voting was likely to be terribly lopsided. To make it up to her, we’re going to do her a solid and feature her look for the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards, which she pretty much nailed.
We said yesterday that her two style modes were twee princess and vintage haute couture goddess, but we forgot how good she is with effortlessly sexy-glam looks like this. On the one hand, we want to offer up our very first “It needs a pendant” for the new year, but on the other hand, we kind of get why she’d opt to forgo one in this case. It’s more dramatic without it, but the look does sort of feel like it’s missing something.
