We totally screwed this one up, you guys. Every working day, we try to put aside one single look that would make a good jumping off point for a discussion of its merits by putting it up to an IN or OUT vote. We figured Hedda star Tessa Thompson’s look for the Gotham Awards made a good choice because it’s a wild swing away from her previous look, which was chic but very plain, and it has a big flouncy/floral thingie, which is a kind of thing we tend to hate. There’s just one problem.
She looks fricking spectacular and we’d be fools trying to pretend there was any point in voting on it. Granted, you kittens have been known to surprise us with your takes a time or two, and the internet is where all the contrarians live and play, so there’s always a chance someone would vote this out, but let’s face it: it’d be a landslide in the opposite direction. We still don’t like that big thing on her shoulder, but the overall look is so flawless and she looks so gorgeous in it that we must simply snap our fingers and tell her to keep werqing. She looks stunning.
