We’re gonna take a short break from all the high falutin gownery of the Governors Awards (not to mention the ongoing and likely endless Wicked: For Good campaign) to check in on a slightly less grandiose red carpet, the premiere of Zootopia 2 in LA.
Shakira in Stella McCartney

Newp. This is terrible. Hate the color, hate the nearly featureless bodice, hate the tricky skirt.
Quinta Brunson in Shushu/Tong

You lost us with that bow, girl. Can’t say we’re loving this shade of brown for you either. And while we’re at it, the shoes don’t go.
Melanie Lynskey and Jason Ritter

As far as we can tell, neither of them are in this film, but Jason Ritter’s commitment to the bit is to be commended. They both look very cute in a very low-key, not-my-circus kind of way, like mom and dad on date night.
Jason Bateman

If you’re going to go to the trouble of wearing a suit and dress shoes, why would you pick the dreariest, least photogenic option?
Ke Huy Quan

The suit is chic, but we hate the matchy sweater. The men are all awash in beige lately and it distresses us. The boots clash.
Ginnifer Goodwin (in Wiederhoeft) and Josh Dallas

More beigery. Her dress is genuinely interesting to look at, but we hate the color and the whole thing feels a bit grandiose for the setting. His look works, largely because of the contrasting shirt, but he should’ve worn brown shoes.
Macaulay Culkin

That raggedy-looking trim photographs terribly, but it’s not a bad look aside from that.
