Rose Byrne came to the Rome Film Festival premiere of If I Had Legs I’d Kick You in a dress that doesn’t appear terribly discussable at first glance but we’re gonna discuss the hell out of it anyway.

Before we get started we suggest you click back to the front page and take a quick scroll to see just how many plain black dresses have been featured on the site lately. We would appear to be deep in the throes of a funereal moment on the world’s red carpets, and while we can understand why anyone might be in a dark mood in 2025, we tend to think these looks don’t make the best sort of promotional outfits. We really hope we’re not looking at an awards season full of funeral frocks. On the other hand, while this is a fairly plain design, it’s also chic and elegant in ways that a brightly colored version might not be. She’s styled beautifully, but we’re not sure the hair and jewelry are doing enough to make the look pop. We tend to hate these apron style bodices and we dislike how poorly fitted this one is. The peplum gives it some interest and we like that it has pockets. We can’t tell if that neckline is supposed to be uneven or not.
