Y’know, not to throw a bomb before we’ve even started, but there’s always a persistent “I wish people would leave them alone” sentiment expressed (sometimes with extreme aggression) any time anything less than fawning is written about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as if they were simply private people trying to live their lives. We point this out because here’s Meghan, media mogul, lifestyle entrepreneur and Archewell Foundation CEO, onstage at Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women summit. Humble privacy and charitable works are not the full picture of these two, which is fine, of course. People gotta make their coin where they can and we’ve never had an issue with the Sussexes having a business and PR plan. But we’re not talking about a private citizen who doesn’t want attention, and the constant need to present that falsehood every time they’re written about makes it nearly impossible to write anything accurate about them. Meghan and Harry are wealthy, powerful people. We’re not talking billionaire-level wealth, like his brother and father, but they’ve done an impressive job of carving out a life and position of influence for themselves away from the royal family. Anyway, here she is, profesh and color-free:

Of course even the mani is beige. The pieces are nice, but of course any sort of color or contrast would have been better than coming out in off-whites and beige. It’s a smart, businesslike look, but the details aren’t quite as good as they should be. The blouse is pulling and she once again has some uneven bronzer action on her face and legs.
