It was reported over the weekend that Dwayne Johnson broke down and wept at the standing ovation during the standing ovation he received at the Venice Film Festival premiere of The Smashing Machine. There’s serious talk of awards consideration and you all know what that means, don’t you? PRESIDENT ROCK IN ’28! Or rather, a long, stylish, and impressively well-fitted Oscar campaign for the one-time wrestler, which is not something we ever could have predicted for him. In other words, these outfits might be included in a Rock-Ology post sometime next March. How nutty is that? But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

This all appears to be in order. They look great together, although he should spend a little less time in the tanning bed, we think. The linen pants are impressively unrumpled, but they’re also a bit see-through, so we wouldn’t have recommended them. That color looks amazing on her, but the embellishments on the straps are too heavy and the skirt is a bit too twisty and tricky for our tastes.

Can’t argue with any of that, except for his pants needing a slight hemming. Love that color on him, love that gown on her. Her earrings are stunning. They look exactly how we want our movie stars to look.
