
And now, the kind of reaction we never wanted to have to a Good Lady Cate red carpet look:




Meh. It’s fine, but it really doesn’t look like something an Emmy nominee should wear to the actual Emmys. Not that she needed to pick a gown, but this feels extremely sedate for the setting. It’s interesting that she went for that modesty scarf instead of sporting the wide open plunge. She’s not particularly shy about a little exposure, but maybe she’s feeling it’s time to go for a more modest style. We’re surprised to find ourselves admitting that we don’t mind the hip cutouts all that much, largely because they’re subtle and not unflattering. Opting to ditch the bow tie of the runway look makes the cuffs seem kind of odd. As we said, it’s all… fine. Which is kind of a letdown.
