The premiere of One Battle After Another was held in LA last night and while a whole bunch of the film’s male stars came, we’re really only interested in what co-stars Regina Hall and Teyana Taylor wore for the occasion, so we’re just gonna feature them. Dudes, wear something interesting next time.
REGINA HALL IN MONIQUE LHUILLIER

The overall style is elegant and looks great on her. This isn’t our favorite color in the world, but it works for her. The hair and makeup look great. Now the quibbles: The textile looks flimsy and cheap and the fit around the bust is deeply unflattering and the corset detail causes everything surrounding it to pull. The jewelry choices are nice, but she needed bigger, more obnoxious pieces to distract from some of the dress flaws.
TEYANA TAYLOR IN MARC JACOBS

This is exactly the kind of insane, intense fashion we’ve come to expect from her and she rarely disappoints. She should’ve lent Regina one piece of jewelry. Admittedly, this look is all about the overall impact. We don’t love the color here either, but that’s largely because there’s so much of it. In fact, as overwrought as the dress design is, our real quibbles come down to the accessories. In other words, if she ditched the gloves and wore a simple pair of pumps, the dress would probably work better. On the other hand, if she’d done that it might have rendered it too conventional for her to wear.
