You might be gearing up for pumpkin spice season. but for Jennifer Lopez, it will always be high summer. The star of the upcoming Kiss of the Spiderwoman came to the YES Scholars anniversary gala, in support of a program that “empowers high-achieving students from low-income communities.” She wore summer in dress form for the occasion:
It’s right on that line separating “colorfully pretty” from “garish.” We tend to fall on the latter side of that line, in terms of assessing this one. There’s no denying it’s pretty and she looks beautiful in it, but there’s a floral, an ombre, and a multicolor gradient effect all happening in the same garment. It’s too much. We’ll give it credit for being a sheer skirt that manages not to be the same tired take on sheer skirt, but the whole thing would be vastly improved if that pink ombre effect was edited out completely. The choker is gorgeous but it doesn’t go.
