We’ve got to give Mother star Noomi Rapace a lot of credit here. As you may know, we tend to hate theme-dressing or cosplay on the red carpet, but she somehow managed a look that says “I’m playing Mother Teresa” while also saying “I’m damn sure NOT Mother Teresa!”
To be fair, you really have to work to see the nun. The dress is fairly simple, but has a few interesting elements, like the tulip sleeves and the halter turtleneck. We can’t say we love that latter element all that much, but it coordinates well with the headband. We’d have preferred a full-blown turban in its place, but the headband is still pretty dramatic and unusual. The mismatched earrings are kind of fun and the bracelets are gorgeous, although they’re fighting with the sleeves a bit. It’s an unusual, striking sort of look and we can’t think of many actresses who could pull off this combination of elements.
