If you’ve read us for any length of time (which, thank you), then you know we tend to hate beige as a color for celebrities doing promo work. We’re not opposed to neutrals on the merits and we think they can always be relied upon in order to put together a chic ensemble, but for performers being photographed or taped in order to convince people to buy their wares, we’ve always felt more focus-pulling colors were the best way to go. Then there’s Lucy Liu, walking into her pal Drew Barrymore’s studios, shutting our mouths.

Because that honestly looks kind of great on her. The gold platforms do a lot to pull it together. It’s not perfect, however. As always with a suit, we’d prefer some contrast in the pieces so the various layers can shine. It turns out the beige suit was part of a stunt with her hostess:
