The hardest-working fake mom and daughter duo in showbiz took their act on the road and headed to Sydney.  Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are in town to promote Freakier Friday and to serve looks.

They’re… fine. Jamie Lee is back in her “get the job done” style mode, wearing a dress that’s perfectly serviceable and looks decent on her, but gives off generic, off-the-rack vibes. It’s good enough for a photo call, though. We think she should be picking a darker shade of hose, however. She prefers these ghostly white tights and then she pairs them with a neutral pump, which tends to negate the whole point of the neutral pump (to elongate the leg). Lindsay’s look is a little awkward and hard to parse because it’s a void in pictures. We’re thinking it’s a coat over a romper, which sounds like a very Lindsay sort of look.

This is going to sound a little nuts, but Jamie Lee is taking her style cues from Queen Elizabeth: simple, generic shapes in very bold colors that flatter her and take a great picture. Like the late Queen’s, it’s a style that’s pretty much impossible to get wrong because all of the guesswork has been taken out of it. Personally, we think the design is a little too twisty and we’re never going to love gowns with turtlenecks, but the color really does look great on her and the shape allows her to pose in her usual hands-on-hips style without any fuss. Also without any fuss is Lindsay’s gown, which lacks pretty much any design elements worth noting. Still, it’s a sleek, simple look and we don’t actually mind it. As we noted before, she tends to look best in black.
