PinSushisamba Bar and Restaurant – Singapore

Let’s get SWANKY, folks! It’s THURSDAY which is almost Friday and that’s reason enough to belly up to the bar or slide our way into a banquette and plant our flag for the day. Let’s be disgracefully irresponsible together.

Jonathan Bailey Is Breaking Hollywood’s Rules — and Winning
In a Hollywood struggling to mint new movie stars, the internet-anointed openly gay ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Wicked’ breakout defiantly forged his own path. Can he bring his fanatical fanbase to ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ and emerge as a full-fledged movie star?

Working at a steady pace since he was a kid, primarily in theater, the 37-year-old British actor broke out in Netflix’s steamy period romantic drama Bridgerton, one of the platform’s most-watched shows ever, and then last year made his big-screen Hollywood debut in the $700 million movie musical extravaganza Wicked.
It’s been a remarkably quick rise for an actor who defies a lot of the conventional wisdom about what makes a star: Despite never attending one of London’s prestige drama schools, he came up through the Royal Shakespeare Company (before Richard II, there was Othello, King Lear and King John), and he’s a proudly out actor who plays both straight and gay in both prestige and populist fare, becoming a sex symbol to both women and men.

10 trailblazing LGBTQIA+ authors who left an indelible mark on literary history
As we celebrate Pride month, Tatler shines a light on LGBTQIA+ authors who helped shape the English literary canon

In 1913, EM Forster was busy writing a novel which would not see the light of day for more than 57 years. Titled Maurice, it explored a passionate love affair between two male students at Cambridge University. If published, it would probably have ended Forster’s career as an author. Thus, he addressed the book ‘to a happier year’, and Maurice collected dust in a drawer for over half a century, until Forster’s death in 1970. When that ‘happier year’ came and the book was released posthumously in 1971 at his request, Maurice was revered as a work of outstanding literary genius. Did Maurice symbolise a new era? Perhaps.

Bobby Flay Pays Tribute to Anne Burrell by Sharing the ‘Greatest Gift’ He Received from the Late Food Network Star
The celebrity chefs shared a love for Maine Coon cats

Bobby Flay is remembering Anne Burrell after her sudden death.
On Wednesday, June 18, just one day after the 55-year-old celebrity chef was found “unconscious and unresponsive” in her New York home, the 60-year-old restauranteur paid his respects in a heartfelt tribute.
“Worst Cooks in America was the funnest show on TV. All of your co-hosts (me included) were just alongside for the Anne Burrell ride,” Flay wrote of his colleague in a post on his Instagram Stories.

How much do the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders make? Pay rise, explained
The answer may surprise you.

If you binged America’s Sweethearts last year, good news — a new season dropped yesterday. As we dive in, we are all wondering: How much does a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader make? The answer is…not much. But it’s getting a lot better.
If you’ve dreamt of being a professional cheerleader, be ready to pinch your pennies. While NFL players can make millions, the cheerleaders who perform at games have no base salary, and some teams pay only minimum wage. Lack of pay and other issues have led to a number of lawsuits against NFL teams in recent years.

The One: Tod’s Celebrates the Gommino Loafer and Timeless Italian Craftsmanship
Spotlighting the iconic driving shoe at the heart of the maison

Nothing conjures the feeling of an idyllic holiday in Italy quite like a driving shoe, a quintessential design in the hands of Tod’s, which is known for its striking Gommino loafer.
Debuting at the end of the 1970s, the Italian fashion brand took inspiration for the Gommino from 1950s driving shoes. It is recognisable for its distinct sole covered in 133 rubber pebbles, as well as its attention to craftsmanship.
Take, for example, the fact that there are over 100 steps in the construction of the shoe, with 35 pieces of leather used in a single model – each of which needs to be treated and checked individually before being assembled, and all of which is done by hand.

Unsure What To Wear for Work in a Heatwave? Try One of These 7 Failsafe Outfit Formulas
All you need to look chic and stay cool

Obviously, in an ideal scenario, we’d spend the duration of this time in a beer garden sipping Aperol Spritzes or sunbathing in the park—but alas, for most, this is hardly realistic given the heatwave is taking place mid-working-week. So, instead, we take on the gruelling challenge of commuting into the office as usual, while simultaneously trying to stay cool and comfortable, and look chic.
Let’s be honest, dressing for the office is tricky enough at the best of times, but even more so when it’s sticky and boiling outside. But fear not, for I’ve channelled all my fashion expertise and experience from years of warm-weather commuting to put together seven failsafe outfit formulas that will make getting dressed for work in a heatwave that much easier.

‘Anti-attraction’ perfumes are mossy, smoky, and a tad dirty—here’s why I couldn’t be more obsessed
For those who can’t stand gourmands…

Mossy, earthy, smoky and even a little dirty: these are not words usually associated with perfumes that are used to “attract.” But not to worry: a new era of scents envisioned to do the opposite are surprisingly on trend, right now.
Following years of chatter surrounding ‘pheromone’ perfumes, soft skin scents and decadent gourmand elixirs that smell good enough to eat (don’t), perfume has long been used as a function to “attract”. Yet in the current climate of trends, which celebrate man-repelling clothing and anti-dating narratives, one subsection of fragrance has celebrated this turn inwards, and towards dating ourselves. Just take a look at Fragrantica threads like this one that celebrate perfumes which tend to “repel men” but still “make you feel great”.

Hot Weather Leaves My Sensitive Skin Red, Inflamed and Itchy––but Weleda’s Latest Range Has Changed Everything
The natural ingredients have soothed and restored

As the temperature outside rises, so does my skin irritation––and the last couple of weeks’ sunshine have left me with red, congested skin that’s a far cry from the summer glow I was aiming for. Just when I was about to resign myself to yet another summer of skin suffering, Weleda dropped a new Wild Rose and White Tea range that claims to be free from all the harsh ingredients my sensitive skin hates, and designed to help rebalance and calm inflammation. Talk about perfect timing.

I’m a Sucker for Versatile Formulas, and These Multi-Purpose Makeup Crayons Have Been an Absolute Game-Changer
One of Hailey Bieber’s favourite lip liners now comes in crayon form.

There’s nothing I love more than a makeup product that cuts down my morning routine. Whether it’s an SPF that doubles as a skin tint, a lip stain that also acts as a blusher or a brow pencil that helps me recreate a ’90s lip — the bottom line is, if it can save space in my already overfilled makeup bag, I already love it.
Enter: my newly found obsession with multi-purpose makeup crayons. They’re the kind of products that don’t necessarily fit into a specific category. They’re not quite a bronzer or a contour stick, nor a blusher or a concealer. Rather, they blur the lines between each makeup step, throwing the conventional rules out the window. But what I love most about them is that they reinforce the idea that makeup is all about experimenting and embracing the artistry.

I’m Calling it Now — The Balloon Jumpsuit is the Cool Girl’s Answer to Effortless Summer Dressing
It’s time to ditch your summer dresses

For many years now, summer dresses have been heralded as the ultimate wardrobe staple for easy and effortless summer dressing. In part down to their throw-on-and-go quality, as well as their ability to always offer a sense of polish, they’ve become a go-to for many of us when it comes to hassle-free yet stylish warm weather dressing.
Until now that is, as in recent months I’ve noticed something — all the cool girls have started ditching their maxi dresses and drop waist styles in favour of another piece. An item that’s no less easy to wear yet offers serious sartorial points, too. Trust me, summer 2025 is all about the balloon jumpsuit.

Forget Crunches and Sit Ups – the Corkscrew Method Is the Easiest Way To Sculpt a Strong, Toned Core
One of the best core workouts you can do? We’re in.

Fitness fads may come and go, but there’s one thing that’s always in style: a strong core. Whether you’re a Hyrox addict, a Pilates princess or a running regular, maintaining a stable, functional core is key to perfecting performance. And even if your idea of a workout is wandering to your local bookstore to add to your to-be-read pile (and, to be quite honest, we’re on board), you don’t want to overlook the functional benefits of a decent set of abs and obliques.
In case you missed it, the pros of a solid core workout are myriad. From improving posture and reducing lower back pain to better balance, stability and ease of movement, not forgetting enhanced athletic performance (yes, really), it’s little surprise that we’re all a bit obsessed with our abs. But make no mistake: we’re not talking merely about aesthetics, here. Sure, some visible muscles might be a nice side-effect of honing a strong core (if you happen to have a great lifestyle and the genetic lottery in the bag, too – without which, your purusit of visible abs will likely prove fruitless) but we’re far more into the functional fitness gains you’ll notice.

Juneteenth, Critical Race Theory, and the Winding Road Toward Reckoning
The holiday is becoming corporatized, but the attack on critical race theory shows why commemorating our history is more important than ever.

In recent years, the day had evolved into an outdoor Black American ritual. Lots of music playlists of empowering hip-hop and R&B classics (with at least one Frankie Beverly and Maze song). “Soul food” dispensed and consumed. Languorous afternoons in the local park. But this year, Juneteenth—even as President Joe Biden is set to sign the bill making it a national holiday—has become yet another victim of cultural appropriation by a white majority still grappling to understand the true meaning of “racial reckoning.” Corporations, small businesses, local governments, and federal agencies have taken to embracing the notion of Juneteenth as a holiday or “wellness day” for their staff, sparing Black employees the trouble of calling in sick.

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s Colorist Says ‘American Love Story’ Got Her Blonde Hair “Totally Wrong”
Brad Johns’s highlighting technique was “hard to get right.”

Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s former hair colorist isn’t a fan of American Love Story’s take on her iconic blonde tresses. Brad Johns, who highlighted her mane in the 1990s, set the record straight with Vogue in a new interview after behind-the-scenes photos from Ryan Murphy’s upcoming Hulu series were released.
Tony-winning actress Sarah Pidgeon portrays the late Calvin Klein publicist, who was best known for her marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr. The Stereophonic star was recently spotted filming on the streets of New York wearing the “totally wrong” blonde shade, claims Johns.

The Most Unusual Celebrity Baby Names
Whether it’s an ode to Mother Nature or a tribute to an indie rock band, Hollywood continues to introduce us to the most unusual celebrity baby names out there.
On Tuesday, Megan Kelly and Machine Gun Kelly revealed the name of their first child together: a daughter named Saga Blade Fox-Baker.
They certainly aren’t the only celebs to opt for a unique name for their kids. Just take Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, who named their son Cosmo. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s first son is called RZA, in honor of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA, and their second child is named Riot Rose. Meanwhile, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcomed baby Rocky into the world last November.

What Is an Onion Sandwich? This Humble Food Has an Extensive History
It’s time to embrace the power of the raw allium.

Many aficionados argue that there’s an art to creating the perfect sandwich. While many of us see sandwiches as a staple, simple lunch, this food has been taken to gourmet and innovative new heights thanks to chefs who have perfected its formula at restaurants like Turkey and the Wolf in New Orleans or Court Street Grocery in New York City.
Beyond the exciting landscape of sandwich shops today, there are countless specific sandwiches that hold tradition, meaning, or memories for people around the world. Traveling to Philadelphia and grabbing a Philly cheesesteak will undoubtedly be on your itinerary, and if you’re in Japan, you’d be remiss not to snag a 7-Eleven egg salad sandwich.
There are countless sandwiches that many of us are still unfamiliar with, offering valuable insights into food cultures and even history. Among them is perhaps the most humble sandwich of all: the onion sandwich.

The Many Names of Sauvignon Blanc
Sancerre? Pouilly-Fumé? Surprise — it’s all Sauvignon Blanc.
You know a wine has ascended to new heights within the popular consciousness when TikTok influencers start spiking it with sliced jalapeño. When the trend came for rosé a few years ago, many wine purists dismissed it as a frivolous social media stunt, despite the fact that rosé — jalapeños or not — was at the height of an impressive decade-long boom. With social media now awash in videos of frozen slices of jalapeño splashing into glasses of crisp white Sauvignon Blanc, Amanda McCrossin — the founder of SommVivant, who’s speaking at this year’s Food & Wine Classic in Aspen — sees an indicator rather than a resurgent social media fad.
“The jalapeño thing is important because what that’s doing is amplifying the green notes that are already in Sauvignon Blanc,” McCrossin, sommelier and host of the Wine Access Unfiltered podcast, says. “It tells me this is something people want more of, that the people have spoken and they love that green citrus, pyrazine-y kind of flavor profile.”

Are you a Type A or Type B friend?
Friendship groups have always comprised those who set plans in motion, and those who show up – but the pressures of modern life are intensifying the divide between the Type As and Type Bs

There are countless videos on TikTok which delve into the stark differences between Type As and Type Bs. Many are tongue-in-cheek, gently poking fun at Type Bs’ incompetence. Others are from frustrated Type As at the end of their tether. “Unpopular opinion, but sometimes you’re not the ‘Type B’ friend – you’re just a bad friend,” says 22-year-old content creator Alice in one video, which has been viewed nearly three million times. “I can’t deal with them being constantly nonchalant and indifferent about everything […] As I get older – and this is personal preference – I don’t think I can be friends with someone who makes me feel like I’m their personal assistant.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Asks Why Fans “Judge Women” Characters For Mistakes But “Not Men”
Although she admitted Carrie has “made mistakes” and “not been mature in love,” Parker reasoned, “It’s always interesting to me that [this is] so condemned, but a male lead on a show can be a murderer, and people love him. And if a woman has an affair, or behaves poorly, or spends money foolishly […] there’s a kind of punitive response to it.”
Parker added, “But I ultimately think that all those feelings are pretty fantastic. That kind of connection and those kinds of strong feelings, both positive and negative, are pretty wonderful. People are kind of captive in those moments to something, and I think that’s perfectly fine. I just think, it’s just interesting, the ways in which we judge women, and not men.”

Julianne Nicholson Might Get an Emmy for Begging for Cocaine Up Her Butt
You know Julianne Nicholson. She played four different characters across multiple iterations of the Law & Order franchise, including three seasons as a main cast member on Criminal Intent. She emerged from 2013’s star-studded August: Osage County having given the film’s best performance, no matter what Oscar voters said. But for many, it was her Emmy-winning role as Kate Winslet’s best/only friend in the 2021 HBO limited series Mare of Easttown that established Nicholson as a talent to be reckoned with.

Bruce Springsteen Reveals His Paths Not Taken
An album “is a record of who you are and where you were at that moment in your life,” he said. With “Tracks II,” he adds seven full ones to his catalog.

“The past always weighs heavy on me,” Bruce Springsteen said on an April afternoon, sitting in the anteroom attached to Thrill Hill, his home studio in New Jersey, where he can make music at any time. “Our pasts have a lot to do with shaping who we are now and the things we’re pursuing. So that is a theme that constantly recurs to me, and I’m always rewriting it, trying to get it right.”
Next Friday, Springsteen will unveil a huge, almost entirely unknown trove of songs from his past on “Tracks II: The Lost Albums.” They reveal musical paths — mostly pensive, occasionally rowdy — that he briefly explored but chose to set aside. Unlike his 1998 collection “Tracks,” a set of demos, alternate versions and unreleased songs dating back to the 1970s, “Tracks II,” with 83 songs, 74 of them previously unreleased in any form, is organized as seven distinct albums.

Turn Your Grill Into a High-Heat Pizza Oven With This Simple Trick
No fancy gear needed.

If you love the flavor of a wood-fired pizza but don’t have the space or budget for a backyard oven, try this clever upgrade: cook your pizza on a wooden plank, right on your grill. In her new book Pizza on a Plank: Make Wood-Fired Pizza on Your Grill!, author and grilling pro Dana Guillen shows how this surprisingly simple technique transforms a gas or charcoal grill into a smoky, high-heat pizza oven—no special equipment required.
Guillen first discovered plank grilling through her brother’s wood plank business and began experimenting with everything from stuffed peppers to meatloaf. But once she tried pizza, she was hooked. “You get the flavor of the smoke and the wood infused into the dough and toppings,” she says. Guillen says grilling pizza on a plank is the closest thing to a wood-fired pizza oven without spending thousands.

How to Make Perfect Guacamole Every Time
An avocado expert and a chef share their secrets.

If you love avocados and/or you want to put together the most raved-about party dip table among your friends and family, you need to know how to make guacamole. It sounds simple: You just mash together avocado, lime juice, cilantro, tomatoes, and onions, and serve it alongside some salty, crispy tortilla chips. That may make a delicious guacamole, but for a truly noteworthy dip, there are a few other crucial elements to consider. It all starts with knowing how to choose a perfectly ripe avocado at the grocery store and ends with decisions having to do with texture and, just as important as the guacamole itself, the ingredients you’re going to serve with it for dipping–hint: there’s a whole world beyond tortilla chips!
We spoke with an avocado expert and a restaurant chef to learn the tips and tricks of making guacamole. Their recommendations will ensure you make a truly tasty bowl each time.

Bangkok’s Pride Is One of the Largest in Asia—and It’s Attracting LGBTQIA+ Travelers From Around the World
After Thailand became the first South Asian country to legalize gay marriage, this LGBTQ+ travel destination is only getting more popular.

Bangkok was hot for its pride festival. The humid wind meant that makeup ran, clothing clung to dampened skin, and the large crowds didn’t find much relief in the shade. But it didn’t slow down the exuberance. From marching bands and floats, flags, and signs, the Bangkok Pride Festival was a party from beginning to end.
In the crowd, amongst hundreds of thousands of Thai citizens, there were also attendees from all over the world. One young man, Bo Han, attended the festival for the first time after living in Thailand for three years. “I’m originally from Myanmar,” he told Travel + Leisure. “My country is very traditional, conservative. Here it is very open, and I feel like myself here.”
