It’s MONDAY! We thought we’d add an exclamation point in order to sell the idea that this is good, exciting news. Did it work? Oh, well. Take a seat and muddle through fabulously.
Nicholas Galitzine teases Masters of the Universe with first look at He-Man: ‘So proud of the movie we’ve made’
“Masters of the Universe” is set to hit theaters in summer 2026.
By the power of Grayskull, Nicholas Galitzine has transformed into He-Man.
On Sunday, the actor portraying the most powerful man in the universe gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Masters of the Universe, the live-action film that sees Galitzine as Prince Adam of Eternia and his alter ego, He-Man.
“Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe,” Galitzine captioned the Instagram post. “It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man. It’s been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it.”
He continued, “There’s not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we’ve made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger Eyes a Killer Role
The ‘White Lotus’ scene stealer wants Christian Bale’s old part in an upcoming remake of ‘American Psycho’ but producers wonder if he has the chops. Plus, infamous digital artist Beeple gets censored for “bullying” Trump and why the Hamptons are less crowded this summer.
Ever since Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino signed on in October to remake American Psycho, fans and industry insiders have been casting the role like it’s 1999 all over again. Oscar nominee Austin Butler briefly emerged as a rumored frontrunner, but he was never in serious talks. The name that keeps bubbling up? Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Yes, that Patrick Schwarzenegger, aka Saxon Ratliff.
The White Lotus season-three scene-stealer has not only been name-checked online for the part — he’s endorsed it. “I’d love nothing more,” he posted on X in April, responding to a fan suggestion that he take a stab at the character Christian Bale made famous in the 2000 adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ best-selling Wall Street slasher novel.
Are You Ready for a Netflix Theme Park? We Are!
Having upended the studio system, the streamer has left one territory unconquered. Here’s how a Netflix Land might look.
As the succession battle at Disney continues to rage on, Ted Sarandos has fielded questions about his desire for the soon-to-be-vacant top job. And the Netflix co-CEO has repeatedly and emphatically insisted he doesn’t want it. “It’s not even on my mind,” he said at a Wall Street Journal conference in October. After all, why would he want the Disney helm? He has built a streaming empire that upended the entertainment business, leaving the rest of Hollywood in its wake and bringing his company’s stock price to new heights (trading at about $1,200 a share as of press time). Still, there is a big something Disney has that Netflix doesn’t: theme parks. The streamer has been branching out more and more into experiential entertainment. (Squid Game: The Experience just expanded to London, in case you want to live out a capitalist nightmare overseas.) Should Netflix want to take the leap, here are some humble suggestions for attractions at Netflix Land.

All The Cool Girls Want To Be Cowgirls Right Now—These Western Scents Make It Even Easier
Scents worth saddling up for
First the western trend came for our wardrobes with cowboy boots and denim jackets, then our beauty routine was given a horse-girl inspired makeover (hello, cowboy copper hair), and now it’s time for our fragrance collections to embrace the ranch aesthetic. After all, everyone who’s anyone wants to look like a cowgirl right now and that means smelling like one too.
Now, when I say cowgirl perfumes, I of course don’t mean in their most literal sense—smelling fresh from a hard day’s riding isn’t something many aspire to. What these scents do embody, though, is the ranch lifestyle. A sense of freedom and adventure combined with a few quintessential western notes like fresh hay, smoky tobacco and heady rum and whisky accords. These are scents that embody the glamour of the equestrian aesthetic even if you’ve never been near a horse.
So, it’s time to saddle up—keep scrolling for the best western scents perfect for living out your cowgirlcore fantasies…
I’ve Never Given a Hair Masque 5 Stars, But This Deeply Nourishing Product has Levelled Up My Hair-Health Journey
A new staple
This year, I knew that I wanted to strip my beauty routine back to basics and prioritise “health” from the inside out. You see, I’m great at quick fixes and making it look like my skin, hair and nails are nourished—but what lies underneath was starting to tell a different tale. My nails were peeling and brittle, and my hair, in particular, was desperately in need of some TLC. I have very long, thick hair, which is wavy and prone to dryness, so it doesn’t take long to look neglected. In short, it was time to do something.
First, I switched out my shampoo for the Nuxe High Shine Shampoo, which is silicone-free and sulphate-free. And then I was in the market for something intensely hydrating. Nearly everyone I spoke to waxed lyrical about COLOR WOW + Chris Appleton Money Masque, and luckily, I had a tub at home, so I decided to give it a spin that evening. Safe to say, I was blown away.
This Unexpected Fruity Note Is In All Of This Summer’s Most Delicious-Smelling Perfumes
Sweet, creamy and utterly addictive
Consider any of the best summer perfumes and you’ll likely identify a recurring theme—these are scents that smell like a tropical holiday. Sweet vanilla, fragrant coconut and tropical blooms like frangipani and tiare are just some of the sun-kissed notes that bloom in popularity as soon as the weather warms up. And it’s easy to understand why. Evoking salty skin, cocktails by the pool and white sandy beaches, these perfumes are like a holiday destination that you keep coming back too—warm, joyful and familiar. But this summer there’s a more unusual note stepping into the spotlight and it’s already trending. Enter: banana perfumes.
Despite being a huge fragrance fan, when I noticed that banana perfumes were emerging as a summer trend I was surprised that I couldn’t locate a scent in my current collection that contained the note already. “Banana lives on the fringes of fine perfumery. It’s too joyful, too strange…which is what makes it challenging to define and work with in a commercial, mass sense,” says Romy Kowalewski, founder of 27 87. And despite first impressions—I was expecting the note to have a sweet sickliness to it—Kowalewski points out that it’s surprisingly complex.
I Used to Love a Minimalist Mani, Until I Discovered ‘Dopamine’ Nails—They’re Perfect For Festival Season
We love intricate nail art
As a beauty journalist, experimenting comes with the job. Whether it’s testing out skincare infused with salmon sperm DNA or reviewing a questionable shade of a brand new blusher, when you spend your whole career trying new things in the name of beauty, it starts to feel like second nature.
That said, when it comes to my nails, I haven’t always been just as keen to shake things up, and have often stuck to what felt familiar and safe (i.e. a French or yet another variation of a milky white mani). In fact, there was a time when even the famed “glazed doughnut” nails or “cat-eye” designs felt too ‘extreme’ for my liking, and it wasn’t until a good two years ago that I decided to change things up a notch.
That was when I first dipped my toes into the fabulous world of nail art and discovered a brand new way to approach manicures. I still remember the exact design I went for, “aura nails,” which involved a pop of peach and pinky hues to mimic an aura reading, complete with a few astrology-inspired gems to go with it. At first, I felt a wave of anxiety-inducing thoughts: “How do I pair my outfits with it? What if the gems fall off? Will people take me less seriously?”
We’ve Tracked Down All of the Best Affordable Jewellery that Kate Middleton has Actually Worn
Who needs the crown jewels anyway?
If I told you I owned the same necklace as the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, you’d probably look at me in disbelief. With an arsenal of heirloom and one-of-a-kind jewellery at her disposal, I wouldn’t blame you for thinking there was no chance that I could even hope to own a piece with royal approval—yet, that’s exactly the case.
You see, while it’s a commonly known fact that many of Kate Middleton’s favourite brands can be found on the British high street, what you may not know is that this actually applies to her jewellery collection, too. In fact, it’s these more affordable jewellery pieces that she regularly opts for when attending informal events or when making appearances day-to-day. I’m talking brands like Missoma, Monica Vinader and Spells of Love, who you will most likely have come across before, possibly without knowing you were shopping from the same places as the Princess herself.
But while Kate’s everyday jewellery may sit at the more affordable end of what I imagine is an elaborate jewellery collection, the pieces she opts for are no less royal-worthy. Many of the designs that Kate wears on repeat draw upon classic jewellery trends, like pearl detailing and delicate gemstones, proving that elegant, timeless jewellery needn’t cost the earth.
Why don’t Black women get to see their coming-of-age stories on screen?
As two new comedies fail to feature Black female leads, Isabella Silvers asks why this pattern persists, and who is responsible for changing it.
Two shows, 12 leading cast members and not a Black woman among them. Ensemble comedy series Adults and Overcompensating both dropped on streaming services in May, following two young groups in their late teens and early twenties as they experience college and living independently for the first time in their adult lives.
The groups deal with love, sex, friendship and grief as they try to find their identities in a chaotic world – universal themes, right? Not, it seems, for Black women and girls, who are absent from leading roles in both of these shows, and more widely across the TV and cinematic landscape.
Wispy bangs are the easy, low-maintenance way to try a fringe this summer
Celebs from Jenna Ortega and Selena Gomez to Zoë Kravitz are obsessed.
If you’ve ever wondered, “should I get a fringe?” but you’re afraid the style might be too much work, I have good news. Wispy bangs don’t just look cool; they’re super low-maintenance, easy to style, and very much lazy-girl approved – perfect for the summer.
“Wispy bangs are a softer, more playful bang cut to loosely accentuate the eye and temple areas,” explains Rogerio Cavalcante, owner and hairstylist at the Second Floor Salon. “Whether they are ‘micro’ wispy, or longer in length, there is less hair cut than a full fringe, so you can still see the forehead peeking through.” Essentially, they have movement and and more of an “airy” texture to them.
10 Aurora Nails That Look Beamed From the Future
It’s time for their close up.
The internet loves a nail trend it can name. Glazed donut nails had their moment in the chrome-coated sun, strawberry milk nails were briefly heralded as the new wave of classy elegance, and now we’ve landed on aurora nails. The look consists of iridescent, translucent hues that are usually layered with a soft shimmer that shifts under light.
Now one of the most popular nail aesthetics, aurora nails sit firmly between a manicure that’s not necessarily maximalist but not exactly minimalist either. This style delivers a polished, almost futuristic effect without relying on loud colors or heavy embellishments. But that doesn’t mean they can’t also be personalized with 3D textures and decals if you’re feeling particularly bold.
Ahead, 10 different aura nails that make the case for a whimsical and eccentric wash on your fingertips this summer.

Crowning New York’s Top ‘Pigeon’
Thousands of people gathered on the High Line on Saturday for Pigeon Fest, inspired by an artist’s sculpture and an appreciation for the city’s most resilient birds.
By almost any measure, the pigeon is a humble bird. But on Saturday, New York’s unofficial avian emblem and second most hated critter was celebrated on the High Line in Chelsea at a first- (and last-) of-its-kind event, Pigeon Fest. Many showed up befeathered and beflocked, adorned with tiny gray-winged novelties and bursting with facts to counter the pigeon’s bad reputation.
As urban wildlife, they’re versatile — they can lay eggs and survive almost anywhere. They’re tough, like New Yorkers, said a woman wearing a cone-shaped pigeon headdress, as if one had nested atop a birthday party hat.
8 of the most controversial album covers of all time [Sensitive Content Warning]
As the artwork for Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming album Man’s Best Friend sparks widespread debate, we revisit some of the most controversial album covers of all time
You’ve seen the title. You know where we’re going with this. In the last 48 hours, it’s been hard to miss the controversy surrounding the artwork for Serena Carpenter’s seventh studio album Man’s Best Friend. Featuring the Disney kid-turned-pop-superstar on her knees in front of a faceless man who is pulling her hair back, the album cover immediately prompted widespread debate when it dropped on Wednesday night (June 11).
While certainly not the most sexually explicit album artwork to have been released (more on that later), critics honed in on the timing of the imagery, given the background of far-right misogyny and backsliding towards traditional gender roles in certain corners of the internet in recent years. Still, others argued that policing women’s sexuality in this day and age is itself a step backwards, also pointing to the fact that Carpenter has regularly poked fun at men in her music and that the new project will likely continue this satirical streak.
We’ll let the think pieces duke it out on this one (our editorial director, Dominique Sisley, has just written a good one), but the recent debate has also got us thinking – have we not been here before?
‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Used Bagpipes, Sheep Fur and the Faroe Islands to Bring the Remake to Life
One noticeable change in scoring the live-action was the use of bagpipes. This time around, Powell was able to use a real bagpipe player, Lorne MacDougall, founder member of the Red Hot Chili Pipers. […] Costume designer Lindsay Pugh wanted to keep the essence of the characters that had been established through the animation and be respectful of that. Still, she also needed to find a characterization that would work in real life. Says Pugh, “It was trying to find that balance, but being respectful to what everybody wants to see.”
Pugh maintained Hiccup’s calmness from the original. “I didn’t want him to be very colorful,” she says behind her decision to anchor his palette in natural tones and green. “It’s very calming and a very gentle color.”
23 Blackberry Recipes That Celebrate Summer’s Juiciest Fruit
From cozy, nostalgic desserts to frosty treats and festive drinks, our recipes make the most of these jewel-like berries.
Summer is the time to seek out some good blackberry recipes. Though they’re available throughout much of the year in grocery stores, they are at their peak at farm stands and farmers markets once the weather turns warm, and there’s nothing quite like blackberry picking on a summer day. It’s easy to spot the dark, jewel-like berries in the brambles on the sides of roads and fields. Wait until they’re completely ripe and any red has turned purple, almost black. Grab what you can easily reach—and try to bring them home without crushing the delicate berries, which can be so laden with juice that they mash almost as soon as you pick them. If you can resist popping them straight into your mouth, you’ll come home with a few cups of blackberries and purple-stained fingertips.
It’s the blackberry’s deep color as well as its sweet juice that make it such a pleasure to use in baked goods, simple puddings, and drinks. Blackberries make beautiful garnishes, especially when speared with a rosemary sprig. Because their many seeds can add unwanted crunch, it’s a good idea to strain them out if you’re making a puree for popsicles, drinks, or syrups.

Infused water is having a moment—and it’s not just because it looks so pretty in a carafe. Slicing up fruits, herbs, and spices and steeping them in water isn’t only a charming hydration upgrade; it can also can deliver a host of health benefits.
But possibly even better, there’s no wrong way to make infused water. It can be as strong or as weak as you like, and you can mix and match ingredients as they suit your palate. Start with a pitcher of water, add your selected sliced produce, fresh herbs, whole spices, and let steep for up to 24 hours in the fridge. One of the Best Way to See Romania Is by Cycling Through Medieval Villages, Castles, and Vineyards
On this luxury cycling trip, explore the best of Romania’s countryside.
It was a warm June afternoon in Bucharest. Rays of sun bounced off the glass of Romanian-produced rosé that I’d held up to clink above the table. Over a soundtrack of loud house music, Martha Butterfield, a vivacious 84-year-old with wispy silver hair, giggled naughtily and shouted, “Live your f@*#ing best life!”
She wasn’t giving a toast. She was reading from a piece of art hanging on the wall of the restaurant, Casa di David. But the words would have made a fitting mantra for my weeklong cycling adventure with Butterfield & Robinson, an active-travel company founded by Martha, her brother Sidney Robinson, and her husband, George Butterfield. Joie de vivre has been B&R’s driving force since its early days in the 1960s planning bike trips from Vienna to Paris.
This Tiny Town in Maine Offers a Quintessential New England Summer—With Gorgeous Beaches and a 100-year-old Lobster Restaurant
Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Ogunquit, Maine.
Tucked on the coast of Southern Maine, the former artist colony of Ogunquit is a long-time favorite for summer vacations. According to local lore, its name means “beautiful place by the sea” in the Indigenous Abenaki language, and for good reason. With over three miles of rocky shoreline and sandy dunes, a picturesque downtown, and a thriving arts community, it’s hard to imagine a place that’s more quintessentially Maine.
