Not to be mean about it, but we wouldn’t have credited Sydney Sweeney for having a particularly articulated approach to her style. We realize that sounds shady as hell, but we swear we’re not suggesting that she’s dumb or that she’s tacky (although she has occasionally played around in the latter sandbox). No, we just mean that, as a young hot starlet with a killer body, she’s at a point in her life and career where she really doesn’t have to overthink things. So count us pleasantly surprised that the star of Echo Valley is out on the promo trail showing off her style range and demonstrating an acute understanding of one of the prime rules of hot starlet style: You can serve legs or you can serve boob, but avoid serving both at the same time. Save that for the club.

See? Very cute, very sexy. And it somewhat nicely avoids the “I’m wearing my boyfriend’s clothes” vibe. We don’t get the point of wearing the tie outside the jacket but it’s not a dealbreaker. The little briefcase is adorable. We might have rec’d a metallic bronze for the shoe.

And then there’s the flipside. We don’t think the tan lines look great when you’re serving Hot Scarlett O’Hara, but we wonder if they aren’t a somewhat deliberate choice, like dying your roots darker. Given the relative lack of jewelry, beachy hair, and faux semi-clean face, it all feels like a pointedly uncurated “hot girl who threw on a gown” vibe. It’s a gorgeous gown – part of that return to period costume grandeur we’ve been seeing a lot of lately – but the details in the bust are weird and visually annoying.
