PinCircolo Popolare Bar and Restaurant – London, UK

Once again, we’re feeling the need for a LOunge with a significant clatter factor. It’s THURSDAY of the longest work week of the year and y’all need to make some noise. Or not. You can sit quietly and judge the carousers. That’s equally as fun. Sometimes even more fun.

Tom Hiddleston’s Feel-Good Advice About How To Face the Apocalypse
The Loki star breaks down why The Life of Chuck is an “uplifting” end-of-the-world movie: “There is a profound optimism in this story”

Tom Hiddleston was in perpetual motion while shooting the outdoor dance number at the heart of The Life of Chuck. It was already difficult enough that he was sweating through his gray suit, but then a heatwave hit their downtown street location as they filmed in the Deep South.
“I burned holes in my shoes,” Hiddleston says. “I was dancing out on the asphalt in Alabama, and by the time we’d finished, you could see my socks through the soles.”
It should have been hellish, but the Loki star describes it more in terms of what Fred Astaire famously sang in Top Hat: “Heaven…I’m in heaven.” “It was always really fun,” Hiddleston says.

Mia Threapleton didn’t believe her agent when she landed the lead role in Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme
“I probably didn’t stop crying for about a week after Wes cast me.”

And at just 24, she is already proving herself to be one of Britain’s leading up and coming acting talent, after her 2022 turn starring alongside her mother, the one and only Kate Winslet, in the BAFTA award-winning Channel 4 film, I Am Ruth. The film saw the pair play an onscreen mother and daughter dealing with the teenager’s descent into social media addiction. And while I was firmly requested by her PR just moments ahead of our interview to not ask any questions about her famous mother (no doubt to avoid the whole nepo baby topic), it’s hard not to note their similarities, both on screen and in person. Since I Am Ruth, Mia’s enjoyed roles in Netflix’s Scoop and Apple TV’s The Buccaneers. Here, as well as filming a ‘Girlhood Firsts’ video for us, GLAMOUR caught up with Threapleton about social media, anxiety and starring in her debut lead role in a feature film. And a Wes Anderson one at that.

If You’re Fed Up of Fragrances That Don’t Last Till Lunch, It May Be Time to Invest in an ‘Extrait’ Perfume
Longevity in spades

If you ask me, as a lifelong perfume enthusiast, there’s nothing more frustrating than dropping a generous amount of £££’s on a new fragrance, only to discover it lacks any kind of longevity on the skin. As a result, you end up spritzing through your scent much more quickly, adding insult to injury to your already-tired bank account.
If this is a particular pet peeve of yours, it may be time to invest in an extrait perfume, which lasts on skin longer than your average eau de parfum, by a lot. Here’s what you need to know before making a purchase.

Trust me, as an oily-skinned girl—these are 9 fool-proof products to mattify shine during summer
Get the right kind of glow

If you struggle with shiny skin during the summer months, you’re not alone. It’s a common issue, and even complexions that are normally pretty balanced can become extra slick during the warm weather.
There are a few things that can trigger this response. Humid temperatures can cause your skin to overproduce sebum, and when you combine that with sweat, pollution in the air, and even some SPFs, your skin can suddenly look shinier than ever. Plus, when your face feels a little greasy, it can make your base slide and can make your neatly applied make-up look far less fresh.

I was fully prepared to call the trending TikTok walking pad a fad – but it’s seriously improved my fitness
Trust me on this one.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll love workout hacks and healthy living tips that are not only effective but time-efficient, too. Staying healthy is important, sure, but so is making sure you have plenty of time to relax and unwind. That’s why, when I saw a walking pad review on my TikTok feed, I was intrigued.
With a casual 5.1 million views on the #walkingtreadmill hashtag TikTok at the time of writing, it’s fair to say the pads – most of which fold up and can fit in a cupboard or behind your desk when you’re not using them – are having a bit of a moment.

3 Bob Haircuts For Fine Hair That Sing Summer
These short, bouncy styles were made for thin hair.

If you’ve got fine hair, but desperately want to brave the chop and get a bob this summer, we’ve got some good news – there’s plenty of sophisticated options for every texture and style. It’s all about finding the right shape for you.
The bad news is, not every type of bob haircut will work for thinner hair types. In fact, a bob for fine hair requires completely different considerations to that of fuller heads, so it’s important to have a trained eye and expert hand at the helm of your fresh ‘do. That being said, when cut and styled well, a bob can be transformative for wispier hair types – not to mention, it makes the ultimate summer refresh.

The 25 Best BookTok Books You Should Pick Up Immediately
Bring your FYP to your TBR.

TikTok can be incredibly addictive, but it’s not all bad. From makeup artist hacks to emerging fashion trends, a perfectly curated FYP will expose you to useful products and ideas that can be incorporated into your real life. One prime example: #BookTok. Short for “Book TikTok,” it’s the space on TikTok where people post their latest reads, book reviews, reactions, fan art, theories, and bookish memes. It’s basically the biggest virtual book club in the world, where you can find recommendations for anything that suits your fancy.
The books that blow up on TikTok aren’t just new releases. The platform has contributed to the renewed success of plenty of titles released years ago. It’s safe to say that no other social media platform has had this kind of effect on the publishing industry, and it’s mainly due to the kind of videos people post. I mean, where else will you find people jumping, screaming, crying, or even throwing a copy across a room in a book review?

Rob Lowe, 61, and Lookalike Son John Show Off Their Workout Routine in Shirtless Photos
He gave fans a glimpse at the “Lowe family tradition.”

Rob Lowe is sharing a glimpse of his father-son workout routine—shirtless, of course—at age 61. On Tuesday, May 27, The West Wing actor had fans seeing double as he playfully pumped some iron with his lookalike son John during a tongue-in-cheek “family tradition.”
The Brat Pack alum showed off his physique in the Instagram post, which showed him posing shirtless with his arm tattoos on full display. Lowe, who ditched his shoes for a barefoot workout, wore a pair of long gray shorts as he flexed his muscles for the camera. Giving the camera a faux-serious smolder, his mini-me—29-year-old son John—mirrored his expression as he stood on his father’s left side. The Unstable actor, who is the youngest son of Lowe and Sheryl Berkoff, also went shirtless as he flexed his arms crossed over his abs. John wore light-wash jeans, a pair of white sneakers with pink laces, and a tan baseball cap with red lettering for his workout.

Kourtney Kardashian Says Traditional Schooling Is ‘Dated’
The eldest Kardashian sister has four children, including three with her ex Scott Disick.

Kourtney Kardashian is no stranger to sharing her thoughts on parenting, including the unconventional ways she runs her household. Last week, the Poosh founder appeared on her younger sister Khloé’s podcast, “Khloé in Wonder Land,” where she called the school system “so dated.”
Kourtney is a self-proclaimed rule-breaker: “I love to go against the grain,” she admitted on the show.

Patti LuPone Is Done with Broadway—and Almost Everything Else
The seventy-six-year-old theatre diva, famed and feared for her salty bravado, dishes on Hal Prince, her non-friendship with Audra McDonald, and sexy but dumb New York Rangers.

LuPone is Broadway’s reigning grande dame, with a big voice and an even bigger mouth. She’s one of the city’s last living broads: brassy, belty, and profane, with the ferocity of a bullet train coming right at you. She’s as famous for playing musical theatre’s iron ladies—Eva Perón in “Evita,” Rose in “Gypsy”—as she is for her offstage rumbles. She’s fought with Andrew Lloyd Webber, who in the nineties replaced her with Glenn Close in his musical “Sunset Boulevard.” (LuPone trashed her dressing room, sued his company, and used part of the settlement to build herself a pool, which she christened the Andrew Lloyd Webber Memorial Swimming Pool.) She’s fought with co-stars. (In her memoir, she called Bill Smitrovich, who played her husband on the TV drama “Life Goes On,” a “thoroughly distasteful man.” Smitrovich: “She’s a very, very guileful woman.”) She has even fought with audience members. She once palmed a cellphone from a texter’s hand, mid-play. In 2022, during a talkback for the musical “Company,” she berated a spectator, “Put your mask over your nose. . . . That is the rule. If you don’t want to follow the rule, get the fuck out!” Ask her about Madonna (“a movie killer”) or “Real Housewives” (“I really don’t want to know about those trashy lives”), and you’ll get a zinger worthy of Bette Davis—one of her heroines, along with Édith Piaf. (“I prefer the flawed to the perfect,” she told me.)

The 11 Best Places to Visit in Spain, From Royal Palaces in Madrid to Volcanic Vineyards in Lanzarote
Spain contains multitudes—seriously. Spanning 17 autonomous regions and two small enclaves in North Africa, the country is a cradle of diverse cultures, geography, traditions, even languages. And while there’s nothing wrong with a sun-and-sangria holiday, there are so many places to visit in Spain that defy the stereotypes: embark on a luxury train ride across the mountainous north, go on a wine and architecture pilgrimage in Rioja, discover the sleepy side of Ibiza, and travel back in time to Andalucía’s Moorish past. The landscapes are just as diverse—from Lanzarote’s lunar lava plains to the lush archipelago of Islas Cíes and the stunning rock formations in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Nature Reserve (Europe’s only desert!).

Weaving Through Guatemala: A Textile Lover’s Travel Guide
Long revered for its vibrant weaving traditions, Guatemala is home to centuries-old textile practices upheld by Indigenous Maya communities. Today, a growing movement of designers, hoteliers, and cultural stewards—many of them women—are celebrating, preserving, and reimagining this legacy while inviting travelers to experience it firsthand. As someone who has long explored the intersection of culture and craft through my books Patterns of India and Patterns of Portugal, I was drawn to Guatemala’s textile story—and found a remarkable, woman-led trip that allowed me to dive deeper into its societal significance.

Who is the real Empress Joséphine Bonaparte? On the anniversary of her death, Tatler explores the life of the beguiling first wife of Napoleon
Played by Vanessa Kirby in Ridley Scott’s upcoming blockbuster, Tatler looks into the real life of the 18th century aristocrat who rose to the French throne after a chance meeting at a society ball

Though not quite as prolific as her acclaimed husband, Empress Joséphine, the wife of Emperor Napoleon, is an almost equally important figure. Most recently, she was portrayed by The Crown star Vanessa Kirby in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon biopic starring Joaquin Phoenix. The French figure has been portrayed in a number of different film and television productions.
Stanley Kubrick famously planned a biopic of Napoleon in the 1970s that he invested years of research into. Set to star Audrey Hepburn as Joséphine, with Jack Nicholson as the famed emperor, it is often called ‘the greatest film never made’. In 1954, Marlon Brando played the role of the French military leader in the film Désirée – but the film focuses mainly on Bonaparte’s relationship with Désirée Clary, who was once engaged to the French emperor, and the role of Joséphine was played by British actress Merle Oberon. So who exactly was the real Joséphine?

Hugh Jackman ‘Disappointed’ and Blindsided by Ex Deborra-Lee Furness’ ‘Betrayal’ Statement: Report
Deborra-Lee Furness spoke out about “betrayal,” calling it a “profound wound that cuts deep”

Hugh Jackman was reportedly caught off guard by ex Deborra-Lee Furness’ public comments about “betrayal” in their marriage.
After filing for divorce on May 23, nearly two years after announcing a seemingly amicable separation, Furness, 69, spoke out in a statement, reflecting on the “breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage” and navigating the “traumatic journey of betrayal.”
According to a report from The Daily Mail on Wednesday, May 28, an anonymous source told the outlet that Jackman, 56, was blindsided and “extremely disappointed” by Furness’ remarks. The source claimed that “there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press” and Jackman “knows that he cannot change anything.”

The Patti LuPone Drama With Audra McDonald and Kecia Lewis, Explained
The offstage tensions between three Broadway stars became public after a dispute over sound levels, an Instagram post and a much-talked-about magazine article.

Patti LuPone and Audra McDonald are two of the biggest Broadway stars of recent decades. So when LuPone pointedly referred to McDonald as “not a friend” in a new interview with The New Yorker, it caused quite a stir.
LuPone made the comment when she was asked about some supportive emojis McDonald added last November to a social media post by another Broadway star, Kecia Lewis. Lewis had accused LuPone of being “racially microaggressive” after she objected to the sound levels at her Broadway show.

36 Hours in Marseille
Marseille is like a siren’s song; for thousands of years, sailors and vagabonds have been drawn in and hooked by its rebellious undercurrent. The glimmering Mediterranean tempts beachgoers to cross sharp rocks on tiptoe, jump into the sea and laugh in swirling currents. Motorcycles tear down the coast. Marseille is a port city, constantly in motion; immigration waves from North Africa, Italy and Corsica have shaped much of its modern cultural fabric, and now young people from cities across Europe, lured by a less expensive cost of living and easy access to nature, are coming in droves. More flight routes are opening. Trendy restaurants with talented chefs at the helm are multiplying. Transportation infrastructure is expanding, cultural programs are evolving, and landmarks, such as the Notre-Dame de la Garde, will soon shed their scaffolding to reveal newly restored facades. But the city’s wild streak isn’t going anywhere. C’est Marseille, bébé — it’s Marseille, baby.

“A Laugh Is Like an Orgasm”: Paul W. Downs Tells Susie Essman How Hacks Became Reality
This may come as a shock: Deborah Vance is not a real person. But when Hacks fans began clamoring for tickets to see the fictional comedienne live, Paul W. Downs knew he had made something transcendent. Over four seasons at the helm of the barbed, always funny, and often heartwarming showbiz satire, Downs and co-creators Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky have lifted the curtains on a world of stand-up comedy that feels majorly meta. And the Broad City alum has a hand in it all—directing, writing, casting, and playing Vance’s scheming manager, Jimmy, ever-beleaguered by his twisted relationship with his assistant-turned-business partner, played by Meg Stalter. Freshly renewed for a final season, Hacks has undoubtedly reached the television summit, with a boatload of Emmy’s and Golden Globes to its name (plus a willful and dedicated fanbase hoping that, one day, its two leads will get together). Take it from Curb Your Enthusiasm standout and Hacks superfan Susie Essman, who understands the inner workings of the comedy world better than most. “We have our own language in the way that prostitutes and cops do,” she told Downs when the two got together earlier this month to reflect on the show’s most recent season, the finale of which airs this week. “We have our own way of connecting to each other and our own shorthand, like Ava and Deborah have.”

5 of the Best Fruits to Eat for Antioxidants, According to Nutritionists
These colorful and delicious fruits can help ease inflammation and reduce your risk of disease.

Eating antioxidant fruits is one of the simplest (and tastiest) ways to reduce your risk of disease. The reason? Antioxidants are compounds that protect healthy cells from oxidative stress, a process that damages cells over time.1 This damage can harm tissues and organs, eventually leading to disease. However, antioxidants can fight the molecules behind oxidative stress, potentially staving off chronic conditions.2
Of course, fueling up on antioxidant-rich fruits is just one piece of the puzzle. Eating a balanced diet full of fiber, anti-inflammatory fats, and lean protein is also important. Other lifestyle habits like staying active, getting enough sleep, and managing stress may lower your risk of disease, too. It’s worth noting that all fruits contain antioxidants, making every variety beneficial. But if you’d like to prioritize options with the highest amounts, consider this list of the best fruits for antioxidants, according to experts.
