Director Maggie Gyllenhaal and star Jessie Buckley came to CinemaCon to preview their upcoming collaboration, The Bride!, which reimagines Frankenstein’s most famous monsters as essentially Bonnie & Clyde in 1930s Chicago. We cannot wait to see this one.
That tie is weird and gross, but in this instance alone, we think we love it. This is the time and place to work a little offbeat, vaguely horrifying fashion. Since the suit is so professional and chic, we like that she got a little weird. Schiaparelli is probably going to be all over this promo tour. They’d be fools not to outfit both of them in their signature body horror chic designs.
Y’know, everyone always says they hate the “I’m pregnant, not fat” belly cradle pose, but as people who could suffer literal professional consequences for making assumptions when we shouldn’t, we’re always a little grateful for it. We honestly don’t like anything about this design, but we have to admit, if she switched the pumps out for a pair of flat boots in the Doc Marten mode, this whole look would pull together beautifully. She’s halfway to Punk Mommy already. Might as well take it all the way there. She’s so well suited for it.
