Longtime comic nerd Tom got his dream Superman cast with this trio (but truth be told, it was the lady in the middle he was hoping for the most), so we’ll have to work extra hard to be judgy about what they’re wearing. The new Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor (David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult) stopped by CinemaCon to drum up some publicity.

So… they’re kind of theme-dressing, no? We can’t get too mad at here, and we don’t think any of it approaches cosplay, but you can definitely tell from the outfits alone who’s playing Superman and who’s playing the villain.

And if we asked you to guess who Brosnahan was playing, you’d take one look at that dress and suss it out immediately. It’s early days and this is literally an industry event intended to promote the project, so we’ll allow it. We just hope when the premieres start happening that they don’t overplay this bit too much.

Having said that, he would be dumb not to play into the Good Guy persona for this project, since it suits him so well. Speaking of suits, this is a pretty nice one, but the fit is off all over.

It’s a spectacular dress, themey or not. We wouldn’t have necessarily recommended those boots for it, but it all looks terrific with the coat on.

Literally the textbook definition of Bad Boy style. It’s a cliche, but we’re not going to pretend he looks terrible in it.
