And now, a sigh of relief in dress form. After an exhausting year of promoting Wicked and campaigning for her Oscar in the longest parade of eye-popping maximalist gowns you ever saw in your life (and capping them off with two more killer looks at the main ceremony), Cynthia Erivo did the fashion equivalent of unhooking her bra after a long day for the Vanity Fair party.
Girlfriend put her eating dress on and we don’t blame her one bit. At another time or place, we might have been a little underwhelmed, but the neutral floatiness and clear ease of wearing is totally refreshing after seeing her in so many complicated and overblown styles all year.
