We’ve milked the 2025 Governors Awards red carpet for all the content its worth (and you should get caught up on efforts here), but it’s time to round up the stragglers and kick them out in the most judgmental manner possible. Join us!
Amanda Seyfried in Valentino

Girl, what on earth? That is hideous. Pink and brown is a very dicey combination and a particularly terrible one for formalwear. We don’t know what’s more baffling, that you’re apparently okay with that sad, smushed boob bow or that you’re okay with those furry straps.
Andra Day in Marmar Halim

Flawless. And perfectly styled.
Anya Taylor-Joy in Maison Margiela

A ghost! Oh, why do you vex us so, spirit? And what’s going on with your rib cage?
Chase Infiniti in Louis Vuitton

She’s so well-suited to this, but it’s way too tight in the bust. This is nitpicky as hell but we think the shoes should match the dress better.
Dakota Johnson in Valentino

It looks vintage and we mean that in the derogatory sense: old and worn out. It’s a drab frock and she did nothing to style it or make it pop.
Dwayne Johnson (in Dolce & Gabbana) and Emily Blunt (in Schiaparelli)

We’re really starting to think Emily Blunt has completely lost her style mojo. This is such a baffling choice. Why would you want a dress that literally highlights your crotch? He looks fine. We like the subtle shade differences in the blues.
Elle Fanning in Gucci

It’s a pretty gown, but she’s worn some version of this so many times that it must feel like throwing on a pair of sweats at this point.
Emily Mortimer in Huishan Zhang

Heavy and shapeless. That Colonel Sanders bow isn’t doing anything for it.
Emma Stone in Valentino

That strap situation isn’t interesting enough to put up with the movement restrictions it imposes on her. Granted, she’s probably not raising her arms over her head much this night, but when the first thing a design inspires is the question of whether or not the wearer can move in it, it’s a distracting design.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Dries Van Noten

The jewelry choices are nice, but the dress couldn’t be any duller.
Imogen Poots in Rodarte

The floral strikes us as harsh, as most black-backed florals do, but we’d like this dress just fine if that ruffled trim was removed.
Jessie Buckley in The Row

A nun with a visible bra. Very confusing.
Kaitlyn Dever in Armani Privé

We don’t love that bathing suit neckline, but the color looks great on her and our only real quibble is with the shoe choice.
Kate Hudson in Valentino

Puckery, wildly overdesigned, hideous color. You really hit the style trifecta there, Kate.
Kerry Condon

It’s got a relaxed elegance that’s perfect for her. We’d have rather seen it in just about any color.
Lucy Liu in Zuhair Murad

Gorgeous. Love the belt.
Natalie Porter in Dior

It looks a little silly and those ridiculous shoes aren’t helping it.
Regina Hall in Monique Lhuillier

It’s like someone worked as hard as they could to make the least flattering dress for her.
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein

It’s too casual a shape and style to handle that many sequins.
Tessa Thompson in Valentino

It’s torturing her boobs, which is a shame, because it’s gorgeous on her.
Teyana Taylor in Miss Sohee

Can’t argue with any of that, although it’s interesting to note how conventional her style has become this year.
Wunmi Mosaku

She deserves better.
Zoey Deutch in Thom Browen

Everyone’s doing these winged skirts or putting a cape on their skirt lately. We don’t mind it, but we hate the ribbon sash.
