Since Viola Davis was entirely too fabulous for a vote, we’re turning to Doechii, who came to the GLAAD Awards to pick up a trophy in her Tabi pumps and an outfit that, if nothing else, is eminently discussable.
See, the thing is, we have a tendency to dislike nearly all attempts at deconstructed fashion at first sight. It’s probably a response to years and years of Project Runway recapping, where “deconstructed” was almost always code for “I didn’t have enough time to finish.” We also have a tendency to dislike themed fashion outside of a drag ball, so the little seamstress touches strike us as a little too precious and costumey. Taking a step back, there’s just too much going on with the entire look. On the other hand, she looks so adorable in her glasses! You make the call:
