The cast of The Wedding Banquet gathered on the red carpet at the British Film Institute’s BFI Flare LGBTQ Film Festival and confirmed something anyone with eyes and half a brain could’ve told you:
The fashion on this promo tour is going to slay.
Lily Gladstone in Simone Rocha
This is gorgeously weird. The color looks amazing on her and we love the edge provided by the lock and chains. The shape is a bit of a challenge (not to wear, of course; she looks very comfy), but we don’t mind it. The earrings are gorgeous.
Han Gi-Chan
He’s adorable and the suit is a stunner. That deep aubergine looks amazing on him.
Kelly Marie Tran in Harbison Studio
She’s entering her glamour era and we’re here for it. While the embellishments look a little bit like someone emptied a junk drawer on the dress, the black and gold combination looks great on her, the fit is perfect, and the style really suits her.
Bowen Yang in Moschino
This is a really fun look and we love that he getting to be a romantic lead. We LOVE the pants, but we could do without the Mickey Mouse buttons. The shirts are gorgeous too, but we think leaving the lace shirt unbuttoned comes close to ruining the look.
Joan Chen
She decided to remind everyone that she’s a straight-up diva in the old school style. Can’t argue with that, although the coat and the shoes don’t really go with the dress all that much.
Bobo Le
Fun, chic, photogenic, and just a little queer-tinged. She looks great and we love her hair and makeup.

When his commitment-phobic boyfriend Chris rejects his proposal, Min makes the offer to Angela instead: a green card marriage in exchange for funding Lee’s IVF. But their plans to quietly elope are upended when Min’s skeptical grandmother flies in from Korea unannounced, insisting on an all-out wedding extravaganza. With a pitch-perfect cast of multigenerational talent that includes Bowen Yang, Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han Gi-chan, Joan Chen, and Academy Award winner Youn Yuh-jung, this fresh reimagining of Ang Lee’s beloved, Award-winning rom-com teems with humour and heart in a poignant reminder that being part of a family means learning to both accept and forgive.
