Style File: THE SUBSTANCE Star Demi Moore at the Independent Spirit Awards and the SAG Awards

The Substance star Demi Moore had herself a whirlwind final weekend before the Oscars as she hit the Film Independent Spirit Awards (which she did not win) and the SAG Awards (which she did). To celebrate both occasion she chose some slightly goofy looks.

Where to start? First, the overall style feels a bit dreary and businesslike for the Independent Spirit Awards, which generally has a funkier, more LA, more Boho vibe than most other awards shows. Second, while we appreciate that she didn’t want to show up in visible panties, that half-slip looks kind of awful. Line the whole thing. And finally, maybe we’re being nitpicky, but we tend to think you can carry a little novelty animal or a little novelty animal bag, but sporting both at the same time is overkill – and neither are needed on a red carpet.

She looks like she’s in the middle of a drag lip sync reveal except she’s taking off one black dress to show off another one. She looks pretty amazing from the waist up (even if she does need a hair rethink), but that skirt is just dumb.
