Maybe it’s because there are so few Margarets in entertainment these days, but Margaret Qualley has one of those names that we want to shout out indignantly, like an angry schoolteacher. “Margaret Qualley! Just what do you call all of this, young lady?”

We know what we’d call it: a shitty disaster. A shitsaster. We realize that Chanel is not giving her much to work with – most of the house’s current output is too ugly and awkward for most red carpets – but she seems to run headlong at the worst options she can find for herself. We want to suggest that her styling choices are a big part of the problem. For instance, those boots are a horrible choice, her hair is giving her a conehead, and as much as we want to support ladies having as many pocket options as men, the fact remains that, if you’re standing on a red carpet for pictures, the pockets are purely decorative. Did she pick up a couple of apples on the way there or something? Girl, whatever’s in those pockets would’ve looked much better in a chic bag. As we said, we want to suggest that the styling is the main problem, but let’s face it, it’s an ugly coat. The tweed is nice, but the shape is long and sack-like, and the crochet yoke makes no sense at all with it.
