Maybe we’re imagining it, but with the film open (and a runaway hit), it feels like Wicked star Cynthia Erivo’s appearance on CBS Mornings came complete with a massive sigh of relief. All of the extra-ness of that poledance is behind her (at least until she has to start up again for Part 2), and she appears to have ditched the witch drag for something akin to her version of Prestige Actress-wear.

Granted, it’s still a little witchy, but at least she’s not sporting yet another green outfit. This one looks really cute on her. She’ll be stepping away from film promotion and moving toward awards campaigning now, and this feels like exactly the kind of look to bridge those two efforts. It’s got a slightly odd silhouette and just enough sparkle for morning TV, which makes it feel like a very subdued form of her own style preferences. This won’t be her first time campaigning for an Oscar, but because she between two promotions for the same franchise, it’ll be interesting to see if she can continue ride that line between IP-based theme-dressing and more conventional For Your Consideration styles.
