We gave Riri and Jodie their own spotlight posts, but we’ve got to clean out our desktop folders, so it’s time to round up the rest of the attendees of the 2024 Fashion Awards and give them the what-for. The what-for being our opinions on their outfits, of course.
Andrea Riseborough in Erdem
The color is pretty on her, and this is definitely a better direction for the base design than what Cynthia Erivo wore a couple months ago, but there’s still entirely too much going with the design and those hideous things on her feet only make matters worse.
Chloe Bailey in Atsuko Kudo
Pure stunning.
Daisy Ridley in Miu Miu
Girl, whoever convinced you to go out in that top is not your friend.
Gemma Chan in Self-Portrait Residency
Jesus Christ, Gemma, how did this happen to you? This dress looks like it was designed by a five-year-old on a coke bender.
Halle Bailey in Ellie Misner
When your dress could double as a lovely seaside windcatcher, your dress is bad.
Issa Rae in Roland Mouret
Go on, girl. Give us the bare minimum.
Joe Jonas in Prada
Cult leader.
Julia Fox in Dilara Fındıkoğlu
The design is semi-interesting, if you go for that broken-down-doll tea-stained sort of thing, but it’s painfully tight on her and the makeup job just makes her look freakish.
Nicola Coughlan in Gaurav Gupta Couture
The girl simply never fails to bring her A game. This is spectacular.
Rita Ora in Primark
It’s hellaciously over-styled – she could easily remove half the jewelry/a third of the makeup and be better for it – and the pants need a major hemming, but this is a pretty strong look overall.
Simone Ashley in Prada
Sheets on a lampshade. It’s a silly frock.
Venus Williams in Thom Browne
Simple, strong and declarative. It works, but it would work so much better if the pants were full length.
