We figured Wicked star Cynthia Erivo would avoid actually wearing a pointy witch’s hat during her cosplay-heavy promo tour, but she sure came awfully close for her appearance on The Tonight Show.
At this point, it’s really only a matter of time, isn’t it? We”ll say it: This kind of wide-brimmed hat doesn’t work well with a bald head — not the way she’s wearing it, anyway. It needs to sit much lower on her forehead; even better, at an angle. Wearing it high and straight like a preacher’s hat doesn’t flatter her. The coat is gorgeous, as are the shoes, but the whole look feels incredibly overwrought for a talk show appearance.
