It’s spooky season, so Lupita Nyong’o opted to go SUPER-witchy when she attended the Paris Opera Ballet season opening gala at the Palais Garnier. But we fear nothing in the previous sentence adequately prepares you for the scrolldown.
Surprise! We bet you didn’t expect a mini-dress under that massive blanket of a cape. While we think sporting Chanel Couture at a Paris Opera gala is something of a no-brainer, we’re not convinced that this look actually works as well as it should. The proportions of the massive cape and little black dress are strange, with the one literally overwhelming the other. But we like the slightly goth styling of it, although we think a much witchier kind of shoe was called for here, possibly something with a buckle or a laceup bootie. Anyway, maybe we’re being too nitpicky about it, which is why we’re turning the final call over to y’all.
