Venice Film Festival: Sigourney Weaver in Chanel at the ‘Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement’ Photo Call

Taking both her disembarking ensemble yesterday and today’s photo call look into consideration, we think it’s safe to conclude two things about Sigourney Weaver’s Venice Film Festival style. She’s keeping it classically chic and she’s relying on Chanel to provide that for her.

This is fun and chic, although we’d quibble with some of the details. The chain belt droops unflatteringly and those Charlie Chaplin work boots are simply wrong for it. There’s a whole range of styles available to her if comfort is her main consideration. We’d accept flip-flops over this, but ballet flats, stylish canvas shoes or kicks, or even clogs would be better choices than those things. Having said that, we still like the overall style for her. There are better ways to wear a tie insouciantly, but the brooch is a nice touch. While we’re being extra nitpicky we might as well note that the cocktail ring is a good choice, but it should’ve been in silver.
