Fresh from her hosting duties at the Democratic National Convention, Unprisoned star Kerry Washington snagged herself a prim little church dress and headed to Good Morning America to chat about what’s been going on with her lately. We’re being unfair calling it a church dress, though.

It’s church separates, to be accurate about it. Her style’s always hit or miss and we’re willing to grade this one on a curve because of how packed her week was, but we actually kind of like this for her. We definitely would have waved her away from Barbie-esque touches like that bag. Looking at the shades, we’re struck by how well brown accessories would have worked with this. Having said that, the mismatched print, which is deliberate, is overdone and we don’t love the shape of the straps or the bustline. Great shoes.
