Jeff Bridges, who looks pretty much completely over it except for the paycheck, Evan Peters, Greta Lee and Jared Leto came out on stage at D23 to talk up the upcoming Tron: Ares. Basically, 98% of D23 is “Remember this thing from before? Here’s more of it!” Anyway, they served up looks. Sort of.
It’s genuinely bizarre how many people showed up to a Disney extravaganza dressed in browns and blacks. It’s so consistent it almost feels like a dress code, although we suspect it was simply a lot of stylists simply not wanting to do cartoon fashion. Granted, we’re thrilled when anyone avoids the massive temptation to do theme-dressing to promote their work, but we think some stars course-corrected too far. What about Greta’s drab-looking dress says “Disney?” Evan looks like an unusually cute ground crew member. We can’t claim Jared didn’t put the effort in – we begrudgingly admit that he actually looks kind of great – but even he toned down his more outrageous impulses. Jeff is fine. His jacket’s too small on him, but at least he’s working a print for some visual interest.
